Wagons are ideal for the needs of the vast majority of people buying crossovers and SUVs in the U.S., but they still won't buy them. I'd wager that many of you think you need a crossover when you really do not.

IOW, Europe gets all the sexy sport wagons and none of the hideous abominations known as crossovers.

Give me one of these over a crossover ANYDAY...

Since I bought my TSX Wagon last March, 2 different people in parking lots have commented to me they didn't know Acura made a wagon. :dunno

I have no need of going 180mph or cornering at 1G but I do appreciate my 8” of ground clearance with a comfortable ride. There’s a reason crossovers are selling.

No shit I would definitely take the Urus over the car. It’s not the same car at all though. The Urus is turbocharged which Lamborghini doesn’t do with cars.

Audi's seem like a good car when new, but as I recall their reliability sucks as a used car.
That is the problem with many euro cars, great new, money pits and HUGE depreciation on the used market.:(

I’ve been a wagon guy all my life. Learned to drive in a ‘94 Buick road master estate wagon and would buy a low mileage one in a heartbeat.

Where SUVs trump wagons is in cargo space and ease in accessibility. Now that I’m maneuvering a car seat/stroller in and out, I cringe when I have to get low and get the car seat in my wife’s A4.

My ‘01 Yukon xl is such a breeze being chest high and more room from front seat and backseat. I also love how my XL can haul a sheet of plywood if need be.

I’ve got 82k on my XL and likely will buy another used once I get to around 120k.

I’m trying to convince the wife trade the A4 Quattro in for a loaded Pacifica. It’s a hard no. We might settle on a Telluride.

Ohh....I’d also settle on a dual sliding Sprinter if they ever make one.

It’s a car that just didn’t sell very well when it was new, but when nice examples come up on the secondary market, they sell faster than houses around here in the South Bay.

I was in a TSX wagon 6-7 years ago. Company lease. I used to complain that it didn’t have enough power and they should’ve made an AWD version to go after the Subaru/Audi wagon buyers. But now I’m in a new RDX, which of course has more power and AWD like I wanted. But I’m damned sure that the TSX wagon was more fun to drive.

Rumors that Honda prototyped a wagon variant of the new TLX. Can you imagine that new TLX as a wagon...and maybe even a Type-S version too? I swear to Poseidon, if that ever comes to light I’ll buy it. That said, I guarantee the quality won’t be as good as that TSX wagon, as those were completely made in Japan.

Well who wouldn’t pick up one of those old LT1 powered wagons if a clean one comes up!

I will agree that you certainly can load a little more in the SUV. My old TSX wagon and my new RDX take up roughly the same footprint. But I’m certain my recent Goodwill run of two trips of the RDX full of (mostly) my wife’s clothes or whatever the hell she was getting rid of? Probably would have been one more trip with the wagon.

However, when you say accessibility, there’s another factor. Right after I bought mine, I had a friend come in an buy a TSX wagon. His wife was looking specifically for a wagon because SUVs were too high. They have a big dog and wanted to be able to just open the back and have him just easily hop in, so she wanted a low lift over height.

A TLX wagon would be very, VERY cool, but unless they promoted it, it would be niche car, IMO.

MB/AMG doesn't want to bring their CLA wagons here, and they're stunning.

Plus, Audi already owns the two-ton-four-banger-pig-just-add-a-turbo-to-not-actually-make-up-for-it category. We certainly don't need more of those.

Mercedes revealed the car in CLA 45 and CLA 45 S variants. The hottest S version makes 421 horsepower from its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, whereas the non-S only makes 387 horsepower.
