:laughing Doesn't sound like they paid for it, sounds like they just ran some kind of elaborate heist. Dude, what do you think the thought process was behind these hi-jinks? Like, they had to find out the weird place was getting vaccine deployed, form an action plan, travel to the location, impersonate casino staff.

All for a single dose that won't even get you there? This dude must have had some kind of inside leg because he was in the industry. Even then, I have to assume they did it for kicks. :laughing

We already are paying for it...

but you want to pay for it twice...no thrice?

Covered that on page one. Fundamentally no, but if a little cash gets me ahead of some other schmucks, sure, why not?

Kind of like buying the cheap seat upgrade when checking in at the airport.

Fundamentally, you probably don't even want to have a needle jabbed into your arm and injected with a rushed concoction.

And it's not like upgrading your seat because the seat you take bumps a passenger off the plane.

I mean, I'm pretty indifferent to it. I get other shots as part of regular maintenance when I go into for check ups 2-4 times a year, this is just one added to the list. But no, it does not bump anyone from the plane.

The notion you are presenting that jumping ahead of someone else removes them from the process is just not real. There is zero statistical justification for that argument. Your statistical analysis is flawed. :dunno

I'd defer to the bag of Dicks post. A bag only holds so many, and if you and your's are able to pay double duty, then the bag goes empty and the one's that can't pay have to wait for the next bag, or the next, etc... They get bumped and bumped until you all's money runs out. Sure, they are not removed from the process and that's not what I said.

It becomes a system where only the privileged get in on it. But we aren't really talking Dicks...

And because someone can pay, does that translate into the best societal impact?

If you want to vote for that system then that's on you. I'd prefer the crude tiered system that you illustrated be carried through to the end and not preferentiate the wealthy.

No, because everyone gets it. Of course it translates into the best societal impact, because as long as the same number of people are impacted, herd immunity is furthered. What is even better, is that from an epidemiology perspective, immunizing people in local specific groups (people from the different income brackets in a local region tend to be neighbors) helps build smaller cells of herd immunity, which reduces transmission paths to the larger community. :dunno

Eventually, yes everyone gets it, but it they'll have to wait for the next delivery or plane...

But since the data shows that, for example, infection rate is highest in the Latino community and that the disease affects blacks the most, you'd prioritize those groups first.

At least that is where I remember our governor stating that prevention and care efforts need to be focused.

But you see, since there is limited supply, having a pay to get program leads to only those with money getting the vaccine while the disease continues to rip through the lower income populations.

I mean, sure if you had Black and Latino Hospitals, but thankfully those kinds of racist segregation practices have been outlawed. :dunno

You're still making weird suggestions that like, not being vaccinated is a death sentence. That this virus is super fatal and that whole populations will be wiped out if they catch it. It isn't true.

Naw brah, not cutting it. I've got a little extra folding money and I can't find anywhere to spend it cutting line.

I would like you to clarify what your question's purpose was. Some thought it was to ask how much you'd pay to cut the line. I viewed it as how much we value a return to pre-COVID normalcy. (In which case I should have said I'd pay more.)
