No, I think there are a ton of people who are forced to work with the Public that should come before me.

And, of course, schools and Universities should open with all above 18 being vaccinated, (I believe that is the minimum age).

I'm happy to be tail end charlie as I'm retired and can minimize my exposure and my finances are in order.

No. It should be freely available for everybody.

While I agree with all of this, I would still pay for a vaccine if I could. If we need as many people to be vaccinated as possible to reach herd immunity, then does it not follow that those who can pay should if it helps speed that up? Would me paying for doses now help others help others get theirs for free later? Yes of course there is a selfish interest in it too. I wanna have a "normal" pre pandemic life as soon as I can. I don't know if its black and white that buying a vaccine = bad for society. It's probably good and bad depending on how you look at it.

I would MUCH rather be given the vaccine for free and plan on taking up that offer ASAP but, if it were possible to buy on immediately I would.

I mean, fundamentally no, because my HMO is fucking expensive, and someone (probably a series of someones) is getting a foot in their ass if my HMO didn't cover it.

That being said, if we are talking about a cash option to expedite the process in getting it done, I am interested.

Paying for it wouldn't bother me, but I'm not going to pay for a higher place in line.

I am eager for EVERYONE(tm) to get vaccinated, because I'm eager to get it all behind us. But I also know that until EVERYONE(tm) is vaccinated, we have to basically act as if none of us are.

So, I'm patiently waiting.

I'd pay what I do for the normal flu shot. $25.00

But since I can't get it, I'll most likely not worry about it

Why is it ok to pay to jump the line, but when I asked why the homeless are getting it before contributing members of society it was heavily implied I'm a jerk for holding said opinion?

Because whether or not we have to pay it has value to people so that they can return to normal. I believe that is what Beauregard is asking, what is that return to normalcy worth for people.

I would pay if I had to. But I'm old enough to be on Medicare (whether I want it or not), so they'll cover most or all of the cost.

I've just started my research on when and where I can get the vaccine. My state will announce sometime in the next few weeks when I can get it, right now its "early February". And as far as I can tell, I have to go to a hospital to get it. I still have no idea what the procedure is beyond that, to get a place in line or an appointment.

A recent Jimmy Kimmel episode covered the hassle he went through to get his aged parents vaccinated. Starting at about 2:20 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFoYYbDfLEc

High complexity, but like housing, if you can't afford it, you should be pushed out, right? It's limited...

This thread isn't about that (jumping the line) or your previous posts where people implied you're a jerk. :rolleyes

I missed happy's posts. What?

Ah I see now.

You do?

Is this like the housing situation where you don't deserve it if you can't afford it, so GTFO?

I will take the advice of my doctor. He should be the only one that can know my medical history and make the call on when, where, and if I take the vaccine. As far as the cost...one way or another we pay for it no matter what.

I’ve paid 2 co-pays for negative covid test so I’m willing to pay again for the vaccine, even if it’s a scam.:twofinger
