Would you buy a Tesla Motorcycle?

With the supercharger network + destination chargers, long distance touring may be possible for an electric motorcycle.

I remember riding a demo zero a few years ago, and was blown away. I loved the power delivery and the near silent drive train, but turned off by slow charging and short range.

What if Tesla came out with a bike that can do 250 miles, and supercharge capable (call it; 100 mile charge in 25 mins)

Would you?

Maybe 350 just to be safe. I would figure in the next 50 years, anywhere outside the bay area charging stations would still be far and few in between.

I would think about it if the price were right.
250 miles with 25min per 100 mile charging rate would work. Still wouldn't be used for touring tho.

Why when we have brilliant local manufacturers developing E bikes.???

So... No (super unlikely)

maybe because competition drives innovation.

Tesla is also a local company.:)

Now that I think about it. 250 range is probably quite a stretch. Probably something in the 150 range is more likely at the price point most folks are willing to pay.

If I could get a good, reliable ebike from any mfg at a reasonable price I would buy it.

there is one local E-bike manufacturer , they are in Santa Clara, that makes a classic-style e-bike with motorcycle-like inverted front-fork...

It's a lot of money -- I Guess you could get a Gladius for that money -- but it was very well-built and handling ... max 25mph? or 30 not sure

A Tesla car is $100,000 which is say, 3x-4x the price of a standard car.

So no, I wouldn't pay $30,000-$40,000 for a Tesla motorbike.

At minimum it would have to be priced around $15k or less including all the upgrades I'd need to make to install a home charging station and would have to cover my commute to work about 17 miles. So it's got to have top speed of 90+ mph. I could see coughing up a bit more money for the home charging station but not more than it costs in gas per year or between $1-1.4k. Otherwise why switch?

If I could afford it yes I would buy one simply because you can ise the superchargers. I think there is some kinda membership fee to use them though =/. Right the best you can do is the Energica Eva has Level 3 charging ability and 30k price tag.

250 miles probably too much for now 150 on the freeway would do it for me. The ability to fastcharge means you dont need the range as much. But remember the more kwh you put on a bike the heavier it will be, the energica eva tips the scales at 500+ lbs. Thats only like 1more kwh than my empulse thats 460lbs. So imagine say 50 more miles on a Eva youd need like 5kwh more. Then lets not forget howcefficient these bikes are. They are more affected by how hard you feet on the throttle than an ice bike.

What do people do at these supercharging stations for 25 minutes? These electric car drivers are likely into yoga and juicing, wine and cheese tasting...
When this shit catches on and becomes more common someone is gonna become kingpin if they can provide a service to sell during that 25 minutes.

People go to the chargers because they are cheapskates mostly, so it would be a tough sell!

I wouldn't buy a Tesla motorcycle because I don't want a "self-driving" bike!

As someone mentioned you can buy an Energica which does have fast charging already.

Unlikely, but certainly possible. I am much more likely to go electric for a bike than a car. I don't typically Road trip on a bike, I commute, and I pleasure ride for the day, which could always be covered on a 250 mile range.

This

The right one with the standardized ev plug could easily get my purchase. Price dependent.
