What ya playing?

Whatever that means
I keep THREATENING to get a VR Rig ever since I tried one down in L.A. at the Anaheim Gardenwalk last year.

Is anybody using them?

I've got a PSVR. It's pretty cool but gonna hold out till they have the wireless systems down good before I get something for PC

I've heard good things about this one but never tried it.

Firewall is so much damn fun. I get sweaty playing it because it's such an adrenalin rush. It's a tactical first person shooter. If you die, you can scroll through the security cameras and give your teammates Intel about what you the other teams are doing. It's super fun with the aim controller

Only downside is that they only do one round per match and the wait times can get tedious, but you put up with it because the game is like crack. The people playing are super cool tho and fun to bullshit with

I picked up Horizon Zero Dawn when it came out on PC a few weeks ago, since I missed the entire ps4 generation. It hasn't exactly hooked me yet.

Other than that, I've been enjoying Carrion in short bursts. Humans suck and murdering them is fun.

Kinda wanna check out the new Alan Wake dlc for Control. Also I should finish Control

Doom Eternal is pretty dope but damn it's stressful :laughing

I tried it when it first came out. Doom 2016 was such a masterstroke, Doom Eternal was kind of a letdown. I returned it immediately. If it goes on a steam sale I'll give it another go now that my hype is down

I might have to pick this up

Let me know if you do. I'll get you initiated in the ways of the gun.
Seriously tho, it's a lot of fun, also, if you have any kind of building search training irl, it totally comes in handy in this game

call of duty warzone, which is free, got me back into video games. then i got the paid version which has the campaign mode. holy cow it's like i'm playing a movie!

i play some world of warcraft, counter strike: global offensive, ride 2,

post scriptum reminds me of day of defeat which was a great game based on half life engine which is what counter strike is also running. same with portal

still i play less than 4 hours a week, and maybe 1 hour / week from february through may due to work.

i can't play more than an hour or so at a time anymore, too many things going on and i can't stay concentrated on the game like i used to...

i used to play 12-16 hour sessions through the night, it's all i would want to do. i think it was a form of escapism combined with the fact that most of my friends i knew through multiplayer online video games...

all i wanted was to be able to afford a place with decent internet and pc so i could satisfy the addiction...finally able to moderate things in my life and it's never been better :party

that said, who wants to play some warzone?? :teeth

Looks like this game is kind of old now, so there may be better games out there, but when I played it on a Vive at the VR Arcade, this deal was crack.

The shit you drop when you actually turn around and a zombie has crept up behind you, well, make sure you didn't eat the spicy curry before you play...

When you get a surprise bite on your ass and notice it, it is hard not to jump hop your physical self half way across the room, lol.

Yeah, I hear your there. It's very different and definitely not as good, but I still found it damn entertaining, if not a bit overwhelming at times.

Been playing MotoGP’20 (XBox) for awhile now. It’s kinda fun to try and replicate authentic lap times without using all of the riding aids.
Fallout 3/NV/4 are still fun and fully modable on console so there’s that dystopian shitty world feel that’s seems realistic in 2020 haha

Been debating on picking up Escape from Tarkov, seems to bridge the gap between COD / PUBG.

Did you ever look forward to Christmas with COD? Not to get the game of course, because we are all grown ups who bought it when it came out and didn’t have to wait to get it from Santa. But getting excited about all those kids who did get it from Santa who’d be rank 1 bullet catchers running around for all of us to slaughter. We already had all the guns, perks, and attachments unlocked. We knew all the chokepoints on the maps. Which is what we earned for the almost two months of grinding we spent leading up to that moment. We absolutely curb stomped those kids.

That is the experience you’d be in store for if you get into Tarkov now I think. People have been dumping hundreds (maybe thousands at this point) of hours learning the maps and knowing where to ambush, where to counter ambush, and have shitloads of gear.

I’ve wanted to try Tarkov too. But I think it would be a super frustrating learning curve at this point in its life cycle.

I got one. It's fun, the problem is there just aren't that many big games on it. Most games built for VR are pretty small in scope, indy feeling games. There are some big name games on VR, but they are ports of standard games and porting like that doesn't always work that well.

Alyx is quite good, easily the best VR experience, looking forward to more games with that scope.

If you do get VR, avoid Oculus. Facebook recently announced that they are going back on a lot of promises they made regarding it in terms of privacy. (so much so that I honestly would not be surprised to see a class action lawsuit against them.)

Lately, I've been digging into RPGs. Pillars of Eternity, as well as Deadfire are good fun. Also digging into Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 prepping a bit for the new one.

Waiting for a Steam Sale to pick up Borderlands 3. I tend to like getting them when they finish up the DLCs and all of that, which apparently is about now.

Destiny 2

Ghost of Tsushima
Divinity: Original Sin
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Red Dead

The list goes on. These are the most recent. Destiny 2 is the go to game. It can get a bit tedious but it's good fun with friends who live far away. Hoping the next installment will live up to the hype. Knowing Destiny I'm prepared to be happy in my disappointment.

Kingdom come was a great game. A little buggy with all of the pop ins (probably because it was made for pc with ps4 as an afterthought) but it definitely made me want to go visit the Czech Republic and go sightseeing in Henry's neighborhood

Yeah, was not happy with the lag and the awful clip range.

I picked up Divinity because it's the same house developing the new Baldur's Gate. If they don't do better they won't match the greatness of BG1/2.

I can't really play any modern games, I don't have the time to play and I'd rather be outside cycling or doing yardwork. But I just downloaded FF7 on the pspstore and I'm playing that again before I buy the FF7 Remake. After that, I plan on playing Shemue 1&2 and then crack open Shemnue III, all on the ps4 platform. But lack of time is where it's at for me, I could never do online play because of my lack of skills and modern games are too over-stimulating for me :laughing:rofl
