bad link mang :(

They just awarded a logging contract out for Deer Creek area. I think they don't want us in there as they have trucks moving in and out at high rates of speed, not to mention the decimation :mad

Hopefully the work something out like Foresthill did where certain trails are closed weekdays but open on the weekend.

I chatted with a woman at the Stonyford Work Center today. The map shown in Gwynn's link is current.
So, if one wanted to do their own Sheetiron style ride, they can likey get through to Elk mountain road.
The is such a ride going in a few weeks. See SBR, dual sport section for more info.

Elk Mountain Rd is clear all the way to Pillsbury. Most of the forest roads in the Upper Lake Ranger District are open but watch out for those logging trucks, they're moving fast and are leaving craters large enough to swallow a bike.

Trails are still closed, I was up at Penny Pines a few weeks ago and other then a lot of staked firewood it came out unscathed.

Short notice but can anyone help?
This Saturday, 4-5 workers are needed for work event at CC Camp.
MCMA Members-
Upper Lake Ranger District oversee's the CC Camp riding area.
The riding area has been closed since the Ranch Fire in 2018.
Much work has been completed but there is much more that is needed with a goal of opening in mid- late 2020.
This weekend we are building a 35' Puncheon bridge.
It will be in an area just past Penny Pines where there is a "sensitive crossing".
These types of bridges help tie trailheads together and play a key role in the existing trail system. There is an urgent need for 4-5 workers this Saturday 10-19-2018 8:30 am at site.
If interested in helping with this 4-5 hour project it would be greatly appreciated.
Please contact Dean Joyner offroad41@gmail.com for details or if you can help.
Thanks!

Still a ways to go but good to see more trails are open. Wonder if it is enough for the Sheetiron.

Thanks for the update.

Noob question.
Does CC Camp = Upper Lake area or Middle Creek Campground?

Went riding at Penny Pines recently, great spot!

I always associated it with both...basically the whole area. Been riding there for 30 yrs but I don't really know if that's correct:laughing.

Do you recommend these other spots around there?
stonyford, south cow, indian valley, knoxville.

I only have less than a year of experience on dirt, riding a CRF250L (the little red pig)...

rode trail 15/26/25/11/8 at PP. (just about right, in terms of difficulty)
