Sad to hear, but not a surprise. All of us on the web now are part of the problem.

I was requested to give an interview with the original owner. He came to my office and we discussed all kinds of stuff and my goals for barf, advertising take etc.

He did not put it out. I found out later that he wanted to slam barf for hurting the print media and after our discussion he really did not have the divisive info and thus the opportunity to do that. I was honored in a way because he had been a staple of Bay Area motorcycle scene.

Surj has raised CityBike game and I think the last couple years have been the best ever. Of course it is more than Surj. Fish, Max, Ann and the crew provided a lot of good stuff. :thumbup

Kudos to the whole team.

so sad

they are one of the reasons I choose to stay around. Reading the rag has always been very pleasurable. They even provided me a free subscription for awhile when they heard I was hurting. Was nice to wake up to hear a CB was in the mailbox!!! Very cool of them folks. Special shout-out to the awesomeness of Gwynn! & all the CB folks!

Online now may you run! Best of luck...:thumbup

Moving from Boston to SF in '95, my experience was similar to John's. Every time a bike rode past, my head would snap to see what it was. Soon discovered Zeitgeist and the CityBike pile inside. Mid- 2000's I wrote for Urban Moto, the free rag one BARFER described as the "purple sports drink to CB's Gaterade". Finally, I wrote a piece for CityBike, a couple years ago and I'm glad I did.
It has survived through many changes and it will live on!
