This was a really fun trip, I'm looking forward to next year. I had just rebuilt and resprung my XR and this had a huge impact in the bike handled. The owner of JPH, Jason Hauns, came over to our camp and helped me dial in my clickers to get me really close to perfection. Thanks Jason!

Sherwood road was a blast and best part of the first day for me. It was completely different than when I road it 2 years ago. Not much mud at all, but moist for good traction. Can someone post a pic of the BMW that burn to the ground near a mud hole.

On the second day Navarro Ridge Rd and Low Gap were an absolute treat, high speed all the way. I did crash going 20mph, fortunately, and screwed up my arm but the pain is already starting going away. I got a flat 25 miles from Stonyford and with everyone's efforts and CJ's heckling we got it done in a reasonable time. Thanks Daniel for the rear tube, there is a new one on its way now.

It was great to ride with good friends and make new ones. Aaron, it was good meeting you and cool to see someone else on an XR650L. Leo, you are a beast. I had a lot of fun riding with to Soda Creek and down Sherwood. Micheal, your healing well and hopefully we can get you down to Baja next year for a redux.

Go team Honda!

Hey, team KTM didn't do so bad... Just a small electrical issue that required only one push, the rest of the time it started great with gravity assist.

Plus, for the first time in history, we beat you honda folks in the price point department with Dimitry's 200 doll hair, undamped sled!

The original owner was so fed up, he just wanted it gone.:laughing

I'll give my favorite little brother I never wanted a little credit. My over under on his $200 KTM was heavily favoring a DNF.

Perhaps next year we start a sub $500 bike purchase and prep competition. Total budget $500. We might need a chase vehicle or two... but could be fun! :laughing

I did see a bunch of “Lemons” racers on my way home Sunday.
:laughing

There were a couple dirtbag alumni on the SI. One on a 72 Suzuki, another on a GS500 based build. The XR100 was also dirtbag adjacent.

Was definitely a challenge on the 1200GS considering I missed the turn off for the big big loop and did the standard route. Unfortunately picked up food poisoning in Fort Bragg at Silver's on the Wharf restaurant so had to slab it back to Stonyford on Sunday. Luckily my buddy I was riding with trailered his GS Adventure up so I was able to get a ride back with him.

Was laid up for 4 days with fever and the shits for 6 days once I got home.
