New project started and almost done.

Well if it's almost done, then maybe the project after that can be a VStrom 650. :rofl

Then again, you'd probably end up just keeping it and never doing another project bike because you'd already have motorcycle perfection and no desire to try anything else. So it might be a bad idea.

I only buy bikes I want to own and ride, I have no desire to own a vstrom. I'm sure it's a great bike, but not my cup of tea.

That old Hyper looks pristine. I assume its an 1100.
How does the torque compare to the 821?

Yeah, it's an 1100S with 3K miles! I had an 1100 years ago, and loved it. I loved it so much, I went out and bought a new 821SP, and i'll be honest. I was disappointed in the 821 motor. A lot less grunt and torque, and didn't have much character compared to the old air cooled bikes. The 821 has a much more modern chassis though.

I'll sell it anytime for the right price! Next project is Street Triple R.

I'll do a writeup soon.

The 939 isn't any torque monster either. It will lift the front in 2nd but in third you have to really want it to come up and may need assistance from the terrain also.
However it seems much more refined than what I was expecting from a Ducati.

Thanks for the tip Stan!
Ever had it take off more than the intended glue?
DT

No i've even used it on paint. If you look at videos of car detailers, it's what they use to remove residue when debadging.

Just ordered one, must have this.

OK, picture time!

Can anyone tell me whats wrong with this carrier sprocket. The bike has a new chain and sprockets, but the rear sprocket looks like it's got 50K on it...

Also, don't make the mistake I made..

I was testing some plugs, and started the bike in this state. Forgot the bike was in gear, and the chain instantly binded up, luckily I was able to kill it.
