The Sony sensor, they're so good right now. You gotta get into medium format to get dynamic range like this. I was also low on Canon gear, so it makes the flip less painful. Some things will suck, like the lack of lens selection. But, I've been turning into a 3-lens kinda shooter (tele/macro/wide). I also picked up a Panasonic GX1 for $199 and 20/1.7, that's going to be my lightweight hiking/daily shooter. Plus, it's fun to mix things up every now and again. :)

26,900 before my trade in of $2,500. I did Truecar.com and Dublin was the cheapest of the 3 dealers I was set up with, they best Costco's price which is supposed to be a no haggle barely above invoice. Wasn't going to go new. Saw a used '10 on CL for $20,000 with 15k miles. Now I'm new with a full warranty.

What type of warranty did they give you? The SO is in need of a new (atleast to her) vehicle, and we'd really like a wagon that gets decent fuel economy. There don't seem to be too many choices tho. It'd be hard to spend that kinda cash on a VW, i've almost never heard of anything good about them, hell my mothers is non stop problems. With the right warranty I guess it can kinda be overlooked.

Warranty
12 year/unlimited distance Limited Warranty against Corrosion Perforation
5-year/60,000-mile (whichever occurs first) Powertrain Limited Warranty
3-year/36,000-mile (whichever occurs first) New Vehicle Limited Warranty
3-year/36,000-mile (whichever occurs first) Roadside Assistance
3 year/36,000 mile (whichever occurs first)
No-Charge Scheduled Carefree Maintenance™

I had my '03 Jetta for 10 years and 133k miles. At 90k miles the water pump went out. Dad and I did a water pump and timing belt change ourselves.

I hear people question VW reliability but I've never had problems before 90k miles. For the space and gas mileage and diesel reliability I dont think it can be beat. Honda and Toyota small SUVs will be more $$ with the same options (leather, nav, full roof sun roof) and less mpg. I may look into an aftermarket warranty soon, VW's extended was too much $$ I thought.

That's not too shabby, might have to look into it. Gonna have to weigh the fuel savings over the cost savings of the imprezza. Claim 32 hwy for their base wagon with awd...

Anyways, thanks for the info, :thumbup

Oh, and i'd have paid for the extended warranty way before considering an aftermarket one, but that's just me.

bit the bullet and paid full retail for my 5d3 kit. (I wanted body only, but they only had the kit) I sold the lens the next day for $699.

I should really slow down on buying camera stuff. I spent the equivalent of a Panigale in the past few months.

Very nice..

My next fun camera will be an M9-P with a 35mm f/2 and 90mm f/2 both Summicrons :)

I think that will be my vacation and everyday setup.

Ouch but it should hurt so good. :)

I don't usually play this game because... well just because, but I'm pretty stoked on the latest addition to the barn.

Got it - I was tempted to do the same before I bought my 5D3, but I'm not a fan of the Nikon ergos. I need to find someone to let me borrow theirs for a longer period of time. I'm to the point where I only shoot with my 40 pancake and my 70-200 v2. Nikon has a solid 35 and 70-200, so I'd be fine. You'll have to post and update in a bit.

Just bought this used steel masi frame (made in 2011) on ebay pretty cheap. Now just have to decide how I going to build it with parts from the stash.
