I was driving behind a guy on a Harley who went wide exiting a left-hander, bounced off the hillside and ended up in the middle of the road. His little half helmet came off when he hit the asphalt. My ER tech neighbor, in the car behind me, jumped out and ran to the guy and started chest compressions while I was on the phone with 911 but it was already too late.

:rip rider. I don't know who you were but we were brothers. edit: his name was Tim Baker. Age 56.

Most of us here on BARF tend to make better choices than this guy did but today was a reminder of how quickly it can be all over.

Wow Mike. :(
I lost a co-worker today. She was sitting at the desk across from me just 2 days ago.
Life is fragile. Hug your loved ones.

:rose RIP rider.

Make sure you call CHP. The incident log is requesting witnesses.

I didn't actually see the whole thing. I saw the tail end of it through the trees. There was another rider right behind him though. She would be the only witness and as I left the scene, she was still there. She didn't know the guy but they were riding "together".

Rolls with it...
That's a tough one... I was present when a scooter accident victim passed on, I remember every detail and that was in 2007....

RIP rider.

Thanks for doing what you could and sorry you have to have those images in your mind.

I came upon the scene in the car and turned around as the road was blocked off. I had a bad feeling from what I could see. I said a few prayers for him/her.

I also thought about the impact on the first responders understanding how they could be angry at speeding sport bikers.

Again, thanks for rendering aid. Now for a prayer or thought for the family.

Wow, OP. Sorry you had to witness it, kudos for stopping and trying to help!

You never forget witnessing a rider pass, it keeps jumping into your mind for years. Nothing you could do, at least you tried.

:rip rider.

We need to always remind ourselves of the risks when we go out for a ride so that we don't get complacent.

Oh man, me and Bruce (Junction regular) came upon this accident on Sunday. We saw your neighbor tirelessly administrating CPR, trying to resuscitate crashed Harley rider for a good minute or two, we got there on our bikes and already a few cars were parked in front of us blocked by the crash.

When the first fire truck finally showed up, we didn't want to clog up the scene for the police/ambulance that were arriving soon, so detoured via Morgan Territory back to Lib'mo.

Had a bad feeling about it, Harley guy was non-responsive and deep dwon I just knew it was a fatality:rip
