Thanks for the pics of Skyler John.
Damn impressive.
I enjoy following the triangles, but also flipping back to the previsious stage for the dudes that are on later time frames to see (or try to see) how they are doing. Still get surprised.
Stage 4 is gonna be fast so a chance for Ricky to pick up some time hopefully. Kept thinking last night... "Wonder why he is losing time?"
Must be the navigation was my conclusion, but with limited tires it could be that or it could be other things too of course.
Damn 1/2 of TV coverage is way to short :rant
:thumbup
would be awesome to see Mr Brabec claw back that 11 minutes ...
really felt the disappointment of Mr Short’s withdrawal last night, seeing Mr Howes doing so well ...
think the pure desert of the recent rallies favors USA riders with our desert training opportunities in the south west and Baja ... wish we had more folks to root for down the GC and in Malle Moto. maybe next year?
fun stuff ...
arty
WOOT Skyler Howes!! :flag
I agree with WoodsChick about Andrew Short giving up too soon. He must have thought about fuel contamination. I wonder if dumping fuel in the desert is against rules, and maybe he wouldn't have proof if he did that? Not sure but will be interested to learn more.
CJ kind of referred to how the FI bikes have a hard time if the injectors get full of water ... suspect they had to do a bit more in the bivouac than just add good gas to get it to fire up?
what I read very initially was he left the bike because it was “unfixable” out on the course, which I’d assumed to be a broken engine, or something, and that his team didn’t have a spare engine on a race truck the way Mr Gonçalves/Hero had last year when we saw him swap an engine on-course?
wish now he had just withdrawn, too ... : |:rose
