Sucks to hear. Hope you heal up fast.

PTT s not going to give you his information, and risk their neck in case you do something rash. However, do you know if PTT talked to the rider regarding his riding though? That is really the best one can hope for with trackday incidents.

PTT would have definetley talked to the guy about his riding....IF they were made aware of it! They have riders on track at all times to watch for this kind of riding but you can't catch all of it...Michael Earnerst ALWAYS says in the rider meeting to come to him (or registration) if you have ANY problems...so they can deal with it then....not days later on the internet:rolleyes.

This. Send Michael Earnest the video clip. He's a straight up dude and will do what he can.

The track protocol and legality is basically that you don't have much right as far as reimbursement goes.

I Have nothing against PTT at all.
Michael is cool, he saw the video . He's staff saw what happened.
There is risk involve and there so much they can do.
I respect the service they provide and WE need those organisation.

Again, I am really pissed off, that's all.

I am a very experience rider with a huge amount of miles and training.
54 years old. I raced enduro in my teen in France, Raced mountain bikes in California, Rock climbed with the best worldwide.

Had plenty of accident. I tough I was going died a few times climbing.

this is hard because it is the first time someone else is at fault and I didn't have a chance to react.

I started in C group following protocol. I was unlucky with the other rider inexperience factor.

Surgery is now inevitable. But I will move on.

Thanks for listening and comments.

Group C

isn't group C composed of riders learning to run on a track - so the risk of an accident (for any reason) is high because track newbies (as I was) make a mistake (as I did) and drop their bike in the path of travel.

?? Why? do you know him?
Your saying I am lying.
Go fuck yourself!

All of us are bummed that you crashed and why you crashed, we also understand your anger, but it's not going to get you a pass when it comes to our rules.

Your post has earned you a 7-day suspension. We honestly hope you return when the suspension expires.

I’ve found the riskiest group is B. B is the same inexperience as C, but with more speed and less margin for error. Then add extra risk of newbs trying to brake harder or drag knee - that’s B.

But rly, it doesn’t matter much. Crashes and contact happen in all groups. I’ve been to trackdays w 0 crashes all day and ones w excessive crashes in all groups. Shit happens. U can do a few things to stay safer:
- pay attention to your surroundings
- don’t hold up a group of riders
- avoid idiots
- ride within your skills, esp if you are near others

The OP is a newb to the track and BARF. Unfortunately he learned the hard way with both. Well, hopefully he learned. Jury is still out.

I saw the Harley guy, I was pitted pretty close to him, I saw him in the afternoon holding his arm like he hurt it pretty bad, I thought maybe he crashed but his bike didn't look hurt, I've never seen him at any other track Days anywhere, I hope you have a speedy recovery, a week suspension will go by fast :ride

Yep, I remember the Harley guy pitted up directly in front of us. Bummed for you on your injuries. Hope you get back out there soon.

Sorry to hear about your injuries. I was in Group C for the first few sessions, it was an absolute shit show. Erratic lines, hot-headed moves, huge speed differentials, and tons of overtaking during Yellows. When I bumped into B, there were still guys cutting the AFM chicane at Turn 1 and hitting cones...

Hope you get better! If you don't mind me asking, what sort of injuries did you get?

Track riding is inherently dangerous, as it riding on the street. It's on us as riders to watch out for people that are doing dangerous things and talk to the track org. I've had to pull off and go chat with the people working grid when I've seen something. Crashing happens, sometimes it's your fault, sometimes it's not.

My biggest fear also, hit from behind. Something out of your control. I always try and be aware my surroundings, knowing who's behind me, next to me, and in front. When I get boxed up, I pull off. Seems like this happens once a day.

People shouldn't get a free pass for reckless behavior. Yes motorsports is inherently dangerous, but even MotoGP riders receive punishments for needlessly endangering others.

It's extremely difficult to judge rider behavior and mete out punishment at track days. For a number of reason. If the TDP starts becoming a judge, they also incur huge liability. We already have had Danny Kim sue because he crashed like an idiot and blamed Monterey County, Laguna Seca, and Keigwins. I'm surprised he didn's sue California and all the instructors as well.

Once the TDP starts saying "this was wrong and you get suspended" then there's one more reason to sue. "Why didn't you stop him before...." All TDP's do their best to try and stop any dangerous behavior. They can't always succeed.

And believe me, there's a blacklist out there and lots of riders who no longer are allowed at any events. You will never see it though.
