I need to vent...

The fucking idiot on a white Harley with "lucky" painted on the tank

that hit me from behind ruin my life for the next 4 months.( more if I need surgery)

this will also get worse as I am self employed. Have 2 kids in College. loss of income will be tough.

Now, I know that there is a risk. and was fully aware and rode within my limits.

But this guy was completely out of control!. he was trying to keep up after I passed him.

if anyone recognize his bike, i would love contact info. Pacific Track Time will not give me info.

here is the video. turn 11. PLEASE SHARE!

if anyone wants the full video from the start of the lap. lmk

doesn't like crashing
Oof, that sucks. Looks almost like he was going for pit-in - I hate that bit of track design, people heading into the pits can come absolutely flying by riders hard on the brakes into T11, and they both want to be on the same line. I've had your video nearly happen to me before.

Hope you heal up fast!

Yup, pretty shitty move by that guy.

He was definitely exiting the track; you can see him riding down pit lane in the rear camera after the bike crashes and spins around. Judging by the fact that we wasn't looking back, I bet he didn't even know he clipped you and crashed you out. Either that or he's a psychopath.

Link fixed.

OP.. I doubt there is anything to be had with getting his info other than you getting to vent personally.

Dude, super sorry to see this. Hoping for speedy recovery. Definitely nothing scares me more at the track than the idea of someone running into the back of me, because there’s just zero I can do about that, assuming I’m running sane lines.

if you slow down the video in setting . right after he hit me from the front camera you clearly see he's not holding on to the handlebar with his right arm. he clipped me on the elbow with his arm. and that must hurt

I am sorry brother! i just recovered from a broken collarbone and it took me 6 months, but also unfortunately this is the risk we take on the track. Hope the guy realized what he caused and apologies if you meet him ever again. we need to learn to forgive as well but i totally understand your frustration. Recover soon bro!

PTT wont give you contact info, and you want barf to do it for you?

There is no indication in the current video, that

Sorry man, but trying to figure out your motive behind this thread? Guess guy did not come visit you in pit to say sorry. Hope you dont sue him or trackday provider for something........

QFT!

OP, what happened to you sucks and "Lucky" guy deserves a stern talking to at minimum but judging by his Sedici Jacket I don't think suing him would help you at all (besides being a dick move) and beating him up and taking his lunch money would only get you in trouble. Hopefully you have good insurance and come out of this OK.

OP:
I got taken out on the same corner a few years ago when a guy tried to make up 3 bike lengths and tucked the front into me. Though your injuries seem more than mine were, I get it; it's infuriating. In my case, the guy even came up to me in the pits after and unapologetically said "next time I'll take it easy on you."

On the flip side, it's worth remembering that we all screw up. I nearly took someone out at T1 the same way at Sonoma by making an overly aggressive, bonehead move and that would have ended way worse.

Shit happens and you can't really control the situation other than your own response/mindset. Unless you're looking for a conversation about what went wrong to learn from it, I'd let go of trying to talk to him. Anything more will just lead to additional bitterness.

My 2cents
