I don't think subjective/judged sports should be professional competitions. I recognize even team sports have referees but they aren't deciding the "quality" of the touchdown...

e.g. skating corruption shows there's no objectiveness.

How is judged diving a competition? Dancing? etc

Synchronized swimming? Skate dancing?

And they tried to get rid of wrestling a few years back.

The Olympics is not "dancing with the stars."

Side note, The Olympics are a corrupt, evil organization that solely exists to enrich the Olympic committee. They sue everybody, and allow horrific countries with terrible human rights violations host their games because $$$.

I totally get if people enjoy sports, especially exotic ones you don't see often on TV, but they can't tell me the Olympics are objectively "good" for society...just because it's someone's dream to toss a heavy iron ball really far doesn't mean it's morally justified to financially wreck a city because of it.

I hate the Olympic broadcasts. 50 minute expose on some random person and then 10 minutes of sport followed by an hour of commercials.

Guess I’m in the minority, I like the Olympics.
I’ll even watch the break dancing. My money is on Norway to take the gold.

+100!

Disgusting that they would try to get rid of one of the 3 oldest sports in the Olympics, and the one that more countries participate than any other sport. Clearly they weren't considering the fact that more countries have athletes in this sport than any other, they were absolutely looking at the money angle.

As to the subjective nature of some sports, that's why I like Track and Field, almost zero subjectiveness as to who ran the fastest, jumped the highest or threw the furthest.
