So my buddy Dave and I finally finished the transformation
of his 98 KTM Adventure....It took a couple of days and
an outsourcing to a local Rhino Liner dealer
but it turned out cool!

We sent the luggage racks and the side stand out
to get powder coated in a matte black, but it's not back yet...

Check back...I will post it again when we have those back on the bike.

Too bad the racks are not easy to put on and take off.
I think it looks more sporty with them off!

Nice!

Did you paint it as well...or does the XR650L come in black because I think I have seen others in black...maybe not...?
What's the make and volume of the tail case your using?

I'd like to do a camping trip sometime soon...does anyone have any suggestions of where to go...somewhere that has great wooded trails and camping available?

Geek; this forum doesn't do HTML. Copy the URL then paste it in the window after you push the "insert picture" button. You'll see the right code after you do in case you want to do your own coding.

How about "none of the above"? Aren't these dirtbike parks? What about offroad adventures? Or even dirt road adventures? Mendocino National Forest?

I'm new here, but not new to dirt/dual sport or Adventure riding. I was wondering how many posts would go by before someone pointed out that most of the "choices" on the poll are not great for dual sport. The obvious choice for SF folks, as Slide pointed out, in MNF. Georgetown area is good if you know it, but lots of it is very tough on a big single. I know, I ride my WR250F there quite a bit. I would be careful on my DR650 there. :teeth

A few pics of a few longer rides.
