AFM voting, y'all are pathetic

Of the 668 members who were sent the voting link, 7 email addresses came back as undeliverable, and 52 members voted.

Only 52 members voted, out of a total of 668? Apathy much?

short of coming to your house or office, or where ever you read your email, opening the email for you, holding your hand to guide it to the mouse to click the link after asking you patiently which candidate you'd like to vote for while you sit in your comfy chair... I don't see how AFM peeps can make voting much easier for you.

For those that didn't vote - WTF? Yes, there is a shaming tone to my post, but honestly I'd be curious (without including my usual attitude) as to why you didn't vote?

Honestly, I didn't even know elections were going on until they sent out results today. I get AFM emails but must have missed that notification there

a) A lot of people don't get the emails, or only see some of them. Something to do with spam filters and such, not my area of expertise.

b) I don't think any of the positions were contested - why vote when there's only one person running?

c) No notifications that elections were happening or what positions were open prior to the "click here to vote" email - meaning, there's a chance that someone who may have been interested in considering running missed it completely.

I also did not receive the email, and from what I can see, lots of other people didn't either, otherwise I would have voted. And trust me, I check my email.

I was surprised to see the email this morning about the election results.

As AJ said on #6, seems like this is a serious issue, lots of people not getting these emails and if the email services being used to blast these emails isn't reliable, then that's not on us.

I haven't received an AFM e-mail in three months about anything. It was fine prior. Why don't they just use facebook for this information?

Doesn't matter how many AFM members if only 100-120 are showing up and racing. Maybe this is one more reason the race entries are dropping??

The emails is definitely an issue, but using Facebook is not a solution, not everybody has a Facebook account, other people don't check it constantly, etc. Fixing the email situation is the better solution.

Happens every year. Low voting turn out. If AFM members are getting registration and meeting e-mails, you should be getting voting information too. If you are not, then make sure you account is up to date. If you choose not to vote, and do not think your vote will make a difference, then that is all on you.

I did not get an email letting me know there was a vote.
I did get the email stating the results.
I have voted in every online election since we started using it. It's very convenient, and easy.
Something is not right here.
It might be time for a revote.

If Mickey didn't get this, then there is a problem, and there more than likely others.

The fact that you got it doesn't mean that everybody did.

Lots of members are claiming that they didn't get the email. And mind you, this isn't the only email that was not received. The minutest from November and December were also not received by many, and so many people complained that AFM had to resend them

Code:
Date: Tue, Jan 2, 2018 at 3:06 AM
Subject: November & December 2017 BOD Minutes

Body:
I received a few emails stating that some folks had not received one or both of the minutes, from November and December.

I believe we have resolved the problem and below you will find the link to both November & December Minutes, and Treasure's Reports.

There is definitely issue with emails.

Zoinks!!!!
I got the emails. I only race a few rounds per year and don’t know enough about the club’s members or politics to make an informed vote.

Abstaining from voting is better than an uninformed vote, in my opinion.
