On Los Angeles Craigslist ...
"1966 Harley-Davidson XLR-TT Factory Racer" ... says he got it from the
original owner in the Chicago, IL, area, "in rough shape" and restored it ...
Some info about the XLR-TT on Silodrome here ... the example Silodrome is talking about
was expected to go at auction for between $45k to $65,000 at Bonham's in 2011 ...
A pic of the Silodrome example ... arty
I gather the cool thing about the XLR-TT was that it was a
production racer that displaced 883cc rather than the more usual 750cc
of the mighty XR-750 ...
Asking $2000, in San Andreas ... prolly won't last, interesting ad to read ...
From the Craigslist ad:
"1966 Honda CA160 Touring Baby Dream motorcycle. I have owned bike the last 18 years & hardly ridden. I use just to pick up mail down the hill. Has been on non op since 1995. California title is in my name."
"Barn find motor cycle sitting in the barn for last 15 yrs.
It has a lot of original documents from 1961 were save by the owner when he bought the bike
(Like brochure ,original instruction before starting the bike i have posted the documents)
When i bought the bike it was fully covered with dust , i cleanup and i saw the great patina and it didn't want to touch it.
The bike has surface rust and it can be cleaned up easy.
The things i change on the bike are new clutch plates , new engine oil, new spark plug, new points and new condenser.
The tires are weathered but they hold air very good.
I cleaned- up the carb and used one of the old 6 volts battery from my other bike and it started right up.
I have a video posted on the youtube you can see how its idling, I took it for a spin around the block without a problem.
The bike shifts through all the gear with out any problem. All the light works.
The gas tank is very clean inside and it has gas in it now.
The mileage on the bike is 7502"
I was born in 1961--and therefore--it was a good year ... :laughing
"Motor has great compression but the bike has been sitting for a while so it doesn't run.
Looks like it just needs the carburetor cleaned up and some fresh gas." :laughing
