I just saw this on the facebook air cooled motorcycles group.

Post a link/pictures of the best motorcycle for sale you can find on ebay or craigslist.

Only rule is that you can't post a duplicate of any ad that's already been posted.

I'll start with this.

1970 Royal Enfield Series II Interceptor

Define what you mean by "best" please.
Most exotic, rare, desirable, unique and likely expensive bike we would love to own in our dreams
or
Best meaning: a great deal someone should actually swoop on?

Oh well ... asking isn't getting, I suppose ... :|

Hey Carlo,

Thanks! I was making a (lame) joke about the asking price
on the Triumph ... :laughing

IDK, maybe low five-figures is what Bonnies are going for
these days? :ride

see you soon,

Just moved to the area, never heard of the Sheetiron but put me down for riding it on a vintage bike. Or my airhead GS, I'm not picky.

John, here's your 500cc Triumph - it's not a 73 but it's close. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mcy/4784492863.html

Hey bcv_west,

Cool bike!
1970 Triumph Daytona 500cc ... asking $4900 ...
Lots prettier than my OIF '73 Tiger ...

The Sheetiron is a two-day 300 mile dual-sport ride that the
Oakland Motorcycle Club puts on every year in the late spring
between Willows in the Central Valley north of Sacramento and Ft Bragg ...
May or June ... it would be a fun dirt ride on an old bike! :party

Just saw this one right now, never even knew about it. :thumbup

1959 Harley-Davidson Hummer

This is a prime 1959 Harley Davidson Hummer 125 2 stroke. It has original paint. there are some scratches but it is very nice for a 1959. Original carb, air filter, chain guard, and tailpipe. The parts are all original. It starts right up and drives. It has current CA registration and plates and is street legal. New tires that are the correct replacement. this looks and drives like it did in 1959

$6250

Harley Hummer! Saw one at Barber. Very cool find, and some interesting/semi-squalid history - post-WWII, Harley and BSA were given the plans for DKW's 125cc 2-stroke as war reparations, and Harley even used the DKW factory for awhile.

Sunbeam S7 ...

Hey BARF Vintage Cafe-sters!

Guess this is a "A Fun Game" challenge, because I could
not find a Sunbeam for sale on craigslist in the USA this morning ...

... and ADV8 posted this diagram of the engine ...

Sunbeam was a British manufacturing marque that produced bicycles and
motorcycles from 1912 to 1956. Originally independent, it was owned by BSA
from 1943. The S7 was produced from 1946 to 1949, and the S7 Delux
and S8 were made from 1949 to 1956, and around 16,000 S7, Delux and S8
bikes were made in a BAS factory in Redditch, Worcestershire,
according to this cool website:

http://classicglory.co.uk/models.htm

If you were at the last 49 Mile Ride, there were two or three Sunbeams to look at ...
one of the most beautiful motorcycle engines ever designed ... :ride

see you on the curb,
