Shameless :bump 150 and counting. Please get your uncles' cousins' brother-in laws to sign!
I signed it, cos I was asked nicely.
My only worry is that I hope it won't hurt Metcalf in any way. Even though I don't live in BA anymore, I've always really liked that place. Haters always rip on it because its too small, but it has the exact type of trails I enjoy riding most and it is so awesome how accessible is to Bay Area people.
Even when I lived in Dublin/Pleasanton for 4years I still preferred to drive over to Metcalf over Carnegie.
Thanks! I don't think this will have much of an effect on Metcalf. It's a totally different riding environment. You won't see any of the Metcalf steep single track like the one I thought I was going to die on here. This will be more wide open with man made terrain.
Is Metcalf overcrowded nowadays?
You may have missed my post whereas certain people are interested in expanding Metcalf but financial circumstances are preventing any movement. I'm all for that!
There is always a push to close OHV parks for all sorts of reasons. I'm just worried that with a zero emission alternative in BA the people who push to close Metcalf will have more ammo.
Hopefully I'm just being overly paranoid.
Signed
I heard Obama today talking about the Paris (climate) Agreement, and that it would spurn technology for more environmentally friendly systems (paraphrased, I am searching for the text).
This park is exactly that. It will help develop technologies that will be implemented in currently unforeseen areas of our lives.
San Jose can lead the world in reversing climate change! Or something. This certianly further establishes us as a leader.
When Obama was speaking outside Solyndra in Fremont I was going to hop the fence, reach into my vest pocket and hand this proposal to him but there were too many guys in black suits and sunglasses around so I decided not too
BTW, 287 signatures and counting :bananaarty:bananaort
Signed and commented. :thumbup
I'll go!
I really think we should be able to get 5000 signatures on the petition...
There are 594 folks on BARF right now, and they all have family and friends!
To whom are you presenting this petition? Why would the City or County of San Jose care if my uncle from Louisiana, or my cousin from San Diego sign the petition? My experience with government petitions is that they are usually verified against voter rolls. Shouldn't the focus be on the constituency of the officials making the choices?I'll go!
