These purchases have served me well.
Garage door opener on my keychain.

I got a pair and it works great with my motorcycle and my son uses it with his house keys for opening the garage inbound on his bike.

Careful to get proper color code for your opener. https://www.amazon.com/Pack-Replace...mote+garage+door+opener&qid=1576744184&sr=8-4

a mini lantern flashlight to help illuminate where i'm walking

when parking the car in a neighborhood that is not well lit to attend an event in the evening

taking public transit and getting home later than usual after daylight savings kicks in
Maybe not exactly what you were talking about, but I have these ones.

Holy Moley. You can get an Electric Pressure Cooker for less than $8?

I never bothered to get one but at that price, how can I lose? Where is this product available?

Not exactly the same style but very similar. The lantern is retractable and the end is a regular flashlight.

Yup, they're very useful. Pocket sized, for peace of mind and bright enough for what I need to use it for.

That thing is $30. Seems kind of cool though.

:wow You rule-breaker, you! ;)
I didn't know affordable bag resealers were even invented.

I totally forgot about chip clips and their usefulness.

They're definitely essential in a chip munching household

I'm going to shockingly break the rules because I don't have one that cheap from last year. I just ordered this pair, which are slightly more than 7.50 each but intrigue me. It's for sealin up yer tater chips in the bag after you open them.

I got one of those way back in the early 2000's (different brand, of course), it was interesting but I stopped using it after a couple weeks.

I've been going with these for frozen, refrigerated and general sealing: Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Chip Bag Clips

I have a few cheap flashlights like that in my car and home. In my case I'd hardly claim I couldn't live without them, not sure I've ever used them.

I have several of those 'types' of lights powered by the 18650 battery.

They are nowhere near the claimed 1500 Lumens, but they are quite bright and serve a purpose in additional to being effective weapons in the right hands.

I have some that are seriously essential parts of my life, but they cost more like $50-$80.

I have purchased one of that specific light, and it is tolerable for the price, as long as you get one where the solder hasn't crapped out and it doesn't work.

Been lucky so far.

For the price, mine feels nice and solid and hasn't let me down yet.

Honest question. Do you think that your $50-$80 didn't come off of the same or similar assembly line and it's cost wasn't more a case of marketing and chutzpah?

Absolutely. I have shopped around a lot of different models and brands at different price points.

The Nightcore P12 is easily the best I have ever owned. Fenix and Surefire also make some pretty nice ones too.

The more nameless $10-$20 Chinese lights tend to have less effective light cast and sometimes just stop working randomly or if you drop them.

I've never been a knife guy, but I absolutely love my Gerber EAB Lite. It allows be to carry a beautifully sharp utility blade in a package that is easy to handle and folds up into the coin pocket of my pants. I carry one with me everywhere now.

They used to be under seven bucks, but Amazon always ran them as an add-on item - they wouldn't ship until you had over $25 in your cart. Now they're a bit more expensive, but still worth it.
