The Ténéré spirit: Forever in our DNA:
Whatever kind of Adventure motorcycle you ride, it is likely that it has been influenced in some way by one of the most significant models in the history of Yamaha. That model was the legendary XT600Z Ténéré, launched 33 years ago at the Paris Show.

When in doubt, gas it!
It looks very nice!

What happens to the exhaust when you case it on a big rock?

... I have some vague idea that there
were several Dakar racebikes that
routed their exhaust under the bike ... :dunno

... anyway, it's a good point and
another example of some of the issues and limits
with a street motor
being pressed into dual-sport service ... :thumbup

... at least the F7 looks like it will
have decent range and more than
5" of rear suspension travel ... :laughing

Moab on my mind
I predict a 19" front wheel, different forks, less travel, less ground clearance, exhaust routing that interferes with both ground clearance and luggage possibilities, and a lot more weight.

Good adventure bike...not so much a trail bike though. Where are the 400/500 adventure bikes? Even a good 350 would do.

Bikes like the T7 are compromises. Better on the street than a 500exc/other similar dirtbike, not as good on the trails.

But I think the T7 is getting pretty close to the street/dirt balance. At least from what we've seen so far. When it is more than a concept and we get some specs/test rides, that'll be the time to call it. With some good aftermarket support, it could be really kick ass.

My thoughts exactly. Fingers crossed that they get it right.
