I will upload the race to my YouTube if I get a chance, post the link here afterwards.

Man, I am all gitty and happy inside to see some racing again, too bad it is like a over a month long wait after this race.

Oh, am I the only one that thinks put fake headlights of a race bike is stupid.

That's awesome. I just cancelled my cable. I remember trying to use a proxy server to spoof my IP addrr without much luck.
The WSBK website streams but there are a lot of countries on the blackout list.
They go by IP addr block. The other downside is slow bandwidth when using free proxy servers. Maybe I should pay for a service.
I'm a little paranoid about torrents due to the DRM stuff and the copyright infringement monitoring that goes on.
If I can't use a proxy server over an encrypted pipe then not worth it to me.
TOR isn't sufficient.
If anyone knows a better way feel free to PM me.

it will get pulled due to copyright infringement in a minute.

Not if you use security through obscurity.
Iv'e seen people use weird unrelated names.
i.e. Joes digging holes lol
or jk79e-r7-8732aktube

If you have a file server that would be tits. Even DropBox would work. You could set up a folder with a password and then share with people over pm.

Tried that too with some gp stuff. Still got pulled.

As usual, I've gotten a few messages on how to get into the racing torrent communities. No harm, no foul, but I figure I'll post a little something here to inform people about general what-have-you's and what-nots about these torrent sites.

First and foremost, they should not be named openly in public forums.

They should not be named openly in public forums.

That was worth repeating, because that is the most important rule about these torrent communities. I'm a member of two different communities, and both cite that as the first and most important rule. Hence, I won't be mentioning the site names or URL in this post.

Now if you do happen to find out where these torrent sites are, it isn't usually that simple to join and create an account. There usually needs to be a requirement or criteria met to be able to join.

For example, on my primary torrent community, membership is by invite-only. An existing member with an invite code available to them needs to share that invite code to you, which you can then use to create your account. The member who gave you that invite code will then be able to see your participation level; this is important because your membership in this community is dictated by either your positive or negative participation, and it can affect the member who gave you the code. Existing members can expect to get more invite codes by way of donating to the site. So I suppose if you know anyone that has an active account, you could give them money to donate to the site, in exchange for an invite code for them to share with you. Just remember that it doesn't usually stop there; you can affect their membership by how positive or negative your participation is.

On another torrent community I'm a member of, there isn't an invite-code needed, rather they have a maximum number of members they allow. Once this max number is reached, new member sign-up is not available. The good news is that they typically have a number of users scheduled to be banned for negative participation or long-term inactivity, and once they have done the clean-up, then these slots open up for new membership. The bad news is that you don't know when that is, so the only thing you can do is keep trying to create an account until you're successful. Of course, since you don't know when the max membership is reached, who knows if their membership is capped at this time anyway (*hint* *hint*)...Also, the good thing about this particular community is that your membership activity will not affect anyone else's.

Hope this enlightens, somewhat.

interesting piece on crash.net today with team owner Simon Buckmaster talking about WorldSupersport which has 35 bikes competing this year versus 19 in WorldSuperbike.

He recommends DORNA look at the WorldSS technical rules as an example on how to reduce costs/increase participation, the Supersport bikes are not stock but they're fairly cheap to build and a good privateer has a real chance to win races against the factory team.

Not as fast as I look.

No. Big disagreements about this last year. I think they be the moronic.

The whole TV thing is incredibly ridiculous. If YOU own the rights to BROADCAST something, but YOU don't broadcast it, why do you care if videos of it are seen, after the fact? There is little value in these races after they are done. If people don't watch them live for FREE, then why would you keep a handful of nuts from watching them later? They are virtually worthless. Just a bunch of meanies. :x

P.S. Thanks for the thread, buddy!

WSS is huge and not expensive for two reasons IMO... no real factory support and they havent changed the rules in forever. without factories and production bike development, laptimes have been mostly stagnant. so last years equipment is still competitive saving a ton of $$, also thanks to the rules remaining the same.

unfortunately, i dont think any of that will ever apply to WSBK or GP. maybe the rules part, but having factory support in the paddock almost always requires teams to run the latest and greatest to be competitive.

... going to read the article now.

Remember Davies winning the 2011 WSS title on the 2009 WSS Yamaha R6's that sat out the whole of 2010? :)

best supporting example for my point ever :D

i heard they changed the suspenders and thats it, to Bitubo none the less. the fact that no one is running those bikes anymore is absurd.

have tires will ride
i'm thinking Sykes is gonna have it his way this year...i'd like to see Rea get it done as well.

i friggin hope so. sykes has been making such consistent progress, and to lose out last year by half a point! really rooting for this to be his year :)

Price tag to run them, maybe? Park'N'Go was able to afford them, at least I think they did coming from running a four-bike Triumph squad before, but then they moved up to SBK. If I remember correctly, price is the same reason no other squad has run the WSBK-spec R1's since 2011. That, and perhaps Yamaha hasn't found a squad with a program they can get behind on.

If anyone wants access to torrents for WSBK let me know. I'm willing to trade an account invite(only one) for something, make offers on pm I suppose? (just not money, not allowed to sell. I'd take a modestly used Q2 rear in 160 if you have one!)

Great quote from former Moto2 race winner & last year's SS runner-up Jules Cluzel, now Leon Camier's teammate on Fixi Suzuki:

"With English people (WSS) I found my confidence back, with Italian people (Moto2) I was just a piece of shit."

I immediately thought of the dozen or so GP riders that Ducati has pointed fingers at because they couldn't ride around the handling problems.

They sent Melandri to a psychiatrist when he told them the bike handled like crap. :laughing

In Ducati's defense, it was all Stoner's fault.:laughing
