PSA Part: If you have tickets on WOW probably good to check on alternatives, Icelandic Air is offering discounted fares to some WOW ticket holders.

I never flew on that airline but they did offer some great ticket prices.

I used WoW air last year. Didn't have any complaints at all. That's too bad

Flew WoW one time to Europe. Got what I paid for and only one hassle. Flight out of Amsterdam was delayed for hours on Dec 23. Had a connection in Iceland was sure I was going to miss our flight. No Wow personnel in Amsterdam they use another airline's personal so they know nothing. Was sure we were going to spend Xmas in Iceland as all flight looked booked. Landed in Iceland and found 7 flights were being held for the plane we were on. EU laws are better than US laws for passangers. Everyone would have had to be put up in a hotel free.

I looked into using them, but found that with all the various fees (kinda like Alligent... once... NEVER again) and dates that made any sort of sense, their rates were on part with BA.

If you went with the clothes you're wearing, didn't care AT ALL where you sat or if you sat next to someone you're going with and were willing and/or able to fly odd days or lengths of time, sure, it could be cheap.

Vary from that and you're in regular airline territory. Not entirely shocked they went tits up.

Worst flight I ever had. Wasn't worth the hassle, the rudeness, the limited service, and by the time I paid for the extras, it cost more that similar better airlines.

There should be rules about maintaining a fund to purchase passengers replacement tickets should you go out of business.

Why? doesn't really happen in any other industry. Think of it as a kickstarter project :laughing

As recently as today, the WOW website was still accepting reservations, maybe the people in charge of managing that got let go?

Pretty sure almost all CC companies will cancel the charges and refund your money. If you bought travel cancellation insurance and booked on WOW, now is a good time to cancel.
