After inspecting my tires today, I discovered this slit in the rear tire. I honestly never do tire inspections, for now on I will be on a regular basis.

I plan on replacing it asap.

Yes. Surface damage. Ride it far enough and that will disappear.

How deep is the gash? Pics suggest not too deep.

Sealant can be helpful with punctures.

Gashes probably not so much.

Doesn't look deep enough to matter. The cracks in the tread grooves would worry me more, but they aren't terrible either.

Mike, my Q3+ front tire had a very similar slit in it and it ran out perfectly. It’ll go away as the tire wears.
