why was HWY 9 closed yesterday at Pierce Rd.?

I came down HWY 9 yesterday around 3PM and was forced to detour onto Pierce Rd. as there may have been a motorcycle accident. Pretty sure the CHP said to me it was a fatality? Ride safe guy's!... I know it's tough not to have "free roam"!
