Why I Refuse to Vote for Barak Obama

Tell certain liberals and progressives that you can't bring yourself to vote for a candidate who opposes gay rights, or who doesn't believe in Darwinian evolution, and they'll nod along. Say that you'd never vote for a politician caught using the 'n'-word, even if you agreed with him on more policy issues than his opponent, and the vast majority of left-leaning Americans would understand. But these same people cannot conceive of how anyone can discern Mitt Romney's flaws, which I've chronicled in the course of the campaign, and still not vote for Obama.

Don't they see that Obama's transgressions are worse than any I've mentioned?

I don't see how anyone who confronts Obama's record with clear eyes can enthusiastically support him. I do understand how they might concluded that he is the lesser of two evils, and back him reluctantly, but I'd have thought more people on the left would regard a sustained assault on civil liberties and the ongoing, needless killing of innocent kids as deal-breakers.

Having a choice between two shit sandwiches (and knowing you'll be eating one of them, yes one of these two WILL absolutely be Pres.) means I'll be picking the one that tastes better. Mitt is worse.

Why walk away on Nov 6th knowing you picked a shit sandwich?

not enough people will vote for a third party candidate. at this point in time, a vote for someone besides the two available douchebags is wasted.

I read the article-here,and another place I saw it posted.

My question is-

Why do people here refer to the President as an Extreme Leftist?

The policy's seem to indicate a solid Center/rightist?

Plural of policy is policies. Thank you. :)

Sorry, this distracts me badly. Not trying to be a grammar nazi. Can't help it.

I hear this said so much, but I can't help but wonder which is actually the "wasted" vote:

A) The one where you vote for who you actually want to win the election, even if that person doesn't win
B) The one where you vote for "the lesser of 2 evils" even though you know they both suck, instead of voting for who you actually want to win

I swear, it's like everybody has a $100 bet on their own candidate. I will not be voting for the winning candidate, and doing so isn't going to affect my paycheck, but will keep my conscience clear knowing I've done what I can.

I heard Jesse Ventura say something along the lines of "People vote for the President like they're betting on a horse." His point being you shouldn't be trying to pick the winner and be on that side, you should vote FOR the person that best represents your views.

Regardless of what happens nationally, California is guaranteed to be won by Barack Obama. I think CA in 2012 is the perfect time to vote for someone not a representative of the one-party system. I'm just imagining the talking heads on Nov 7 if Gary Johnson (or someone else) got 15% of the popular vote in CA. I truthfully believe the wheels of change would begin to roll in DC if that happened.
