Who likes the pitter patter of rain... on their helmet visor?

Riding All The Time
I DO!!! How about you?
Today was a beauty! Much hooting, hollering, rejoicing, and even some time spent on one wheel. I had a great commute through the Santa Cruz mtns.
Best part of my day.

(btw, my aerostich kept me dry)

I LOVE riding in the rain. I can't do it anymore b/c... well... it's bad enough riding with one arm... but it's so much fun playing in the rain/wet/puddles! The sad part is that I've only ever done it on my Gixxer/R6... now that I've got sumos, it's so sad!

Great video!

I sure do, but not in the type of riding in OP's vid. I've done that plenty to, was motorcycle only for 11years in Bay Area and I didn't hate commuting in the rain but not something I miss.
The rain riding I really enjoyed is the empty backroads of the Santa Cruz mountains.
That I really do miss. The smell of wet forest feels me with good feelings. And to get through beautiful redwood forests and then to the beach in one ride... Paradise

u one brave (?) puppy; I gather you have to...not worth it to me (I don't have a 'stich or waterproof anything.)

I have gone rain riding several times to break-in new bikes when endless rain years come about (~every 11 years? "El Nieno" seasons.) Broke in 81' KZ1000J brand spanking new in Jan., got tired of waiting for it to quit raining late Feb.) Broke in GPz1100 on wet RRW in 83' for same reasons/tired of waiting for it to STOP RAINING.

Both bikes ran great, street or track....:teeth

Thanks for kind comments!

The KLR is alot more fun in the rain than my concours14, that is true (I have some driving-rain stories from a trip in Utah with the C14... scarey stories)

cg_ops, I think it's pretty awesome you're riding at all! Rain definetly increases risk, and not everybody wants that increase.

EBD, I actually have a couple cages to choose from, but if it's raining, i'll almost always take the moto (mostly because I know traffic will suck). But If I wasn't clear before, I really do like riding in the rain :teeth
On average, I drive-commute only about once per month. I've been moto commuting for decades.

And I wish I could have shown the bigger puddles I went through once I hopped on the back roads! (vid was too dark, being under the trees and all) (I take the longer way home on the back roads every. single. day. It is paradise!)

Riding across the USA I've been rained on a lot, Wyoming is one of the greatest for rain but Missouri had the heaviest, and then the times going into Death Valley when the road disappeared due to the standing water.
So yea I like rain.

Oh yah; if you got the gear it can be a ball (I just rode in me leathers.) I think the "break-in" ride of my brand spanking new KZ1000J in Jan 82' was the most fun "rain-ride" I've ever had. RRW had just been re-paved, was grippy as heck even when raining @ mid-speeds, & the new tires & bike was just, awesome! (the 81' KZ1KJ was a torque monster!)

I rode from Castro Valley to "The Wall" & back. It wasn't that it was long/wet/cold (warm storm), it wasn't. It was just the feeling of the new bike/tires & sliding around deliberately on that torque monster @ low rpm's that was so exhilarating. Weeeee! :teeth

Had to be my most fun rain ride ever. Thus, I did it again on the 83' GPZ1100 the day I bought it on the ride home f/Richmond KAW, using the same route, having the same blast like I'd had a year before. :cool

Riding All The Time
another video, from this week in the Santa Cruz Mountains

Just thought i'd post another video, from this week in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
(Presidents day 2017)

https://youtu.be/DZjaeqqN1-s

It was CRAZY windy.
Little cars couldn't stay in their own lane.
Mud couldn't stay on their hills.
Branches couldn't stay with their trees.
Lane splitting was a challenge.
wowza
wet and WILD :teeth

I wish I had my dual sport in these rainy/muddy conditions. I will ride my Duke in the rain for fun, but it's the GSXR for commute duties.
