Hi Barf,
Just wanted to share a recent experience at East Bay Motorsports, in Hayward.
I visited them a couple of years ago and felt they were outrageously pricely with nothing much to offer. And I stopped going there. However, I just bought a new-to-me 2016 Zx6r and was looking for an oil change place close by (I live in Hayward).
Santa Clara Cycles is usually my Go-To place ($35 oil change labor + oil + filter). But I didn't wanna ride that far in such traffic.
So, I went to East Bay Motorsports. Here's what they told me when I asked how much for an Oil Change.
1st person behind the counter responds, "It'll be a couple of hundred dollars...like $210-$225.
2nd person seeing my surprised look responds, "Well, the oil & filter is like $115 + labor about $125ish, so it'll be close to $225 ish, like he said (pointing to the 1st guy).
I shokingly asked, "over $200, for an oil change?" 1st guy says, "it's a bike man, now a car. That how much it is for bikes." ... as they both kinda smile at each other, as if this was the Norm.:wtf
Obviously, I left. I called the Dealership in Fremont. They said about $65 (incl oil & labor) for regular oil; and $90 for Full Synthetic (incl oil/filter & labor) and any oil of my choice in that price.
My question is WHO goes to East Bay Motorsports and Why? :wow:rolleyes
