Which have you owned more of: bikes or cars/trucks?

Anyhoo, I recently bought my ninth motorcycle, prior to which I had owned a grand total of 8 cars in my life, at least until I got rid of my most recent one in 2008. Curious to see how typical this is, or not.

I've owned 5 cars in 40 years of driving; 3 out of these 5 were given to me by my parents during high school and upon graduating college. 3 new, 2 used.

I've owned 15 bikes in 11 years of riding. All used.

Motorcycles by far.

14 motos over 14 years; 1 car and 1 truck over 16 years. Even adding in my wife (since a few of those bikes were “hers”) would only add three more cars.

Right now I own 8 motorcycles, 1 truck and one car.
I am old enough to have had time to own a lot of both. If I stopped to add them all up the numbers would be closer than you might think but the bikes would take the win.
If I had a garage large enough to hold 8 cars/trucks at one time things might have been different. :laughing

8? 8 is an INSANE number of motorcycles to own!

(I also own 8 right now, 11 over my lifetime.)

Plus two trucks, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, a VW Beetle, and two trailers.

I've had 16 owned automobiles and nine motorcycles in my lifetime including the current equipment in the garage.

3 are dirt bikes and there are also 2 track bikes in that number, but yeah... still kinda hard to defend. Fortunately that number just went down from 9 to 8 as I recently sold my Triumph Daytona.
...and we have a trailer in common too. Your 8/11 number also rings true for me because like you, I tend to hang on to my bikes. There are some good running relics stuffed in that garage.

In my 40 years of driving I've purchased 8 cars (2 news) and 8 bikes.
I now own 2 cars and 7 bikes (3 work). :rolleyes

I’d say the wifey is a keeper.

But, on topic, I’d have to count, but motos would win. Five motos and three cars right now.

All but one of mine run and get ridden.
The one bike that's inop is my 1993 DR350. It has a permanent home in my garage but it's gonna be down for a while. I set it up for sumo duty and blew 2nd gear apart at Sears Point go-cart track. The case has to split for access so I might as well go through the entire motor while it's apart. It will take me a while to lean in to the notion of spending $3000 on a $1500 motorcycle but it's gonna happen and it will look and run perty when it's finished.

I'd say I've had 8-9 cars and trucks. Probably more than 25 bikes. It's no contest.

Ive had 6 cars 3 trucks and 12 bikes currently have 1 truck 1 cars and 5 bikes. Been thinking about sellin 2 bikes

In 48 years I've owned for my own use 3 cars and 8 motorcycles.

Not planning to replace the one car and one moto I have at the moment.

Mine also went from 9 -> 8 but because I sold a Ural and a Road King and bought a Suzuki Katana GS600F.

6 cars/trucks owned over lifetime

No contest, especially considering I'm going to get buried in this truck.
