so im looking for a new suit since its been 4 years since ive used mine and it um....shrunk :laughing years ago when I was looking I would go to motostrano and road rider. I was at road rider a few days ago and I didnt see much of anything for suits (unless i missed it) I remember there used to be racks of them before. and motostrano seems to be just ebike now (looking online)...? im looking for either A* or Dainese. is there anywhere that carries a good selection?

Speaking of this, WTF happened to Motostrano? They used to stock huge amounts of leather suits and now I see their website has changed and they are hocking bicycles? :wtf

never stopped into Motostrano but in looking at all the yelp reviews in the past - anything m/c related there was a not-so-hot review.

Good luck man, I bought my first suit a couple of months ago, and it seemed like no one kept suits in stock. Obviously the D store has every size on the rack, but only theirs. I ended up just getting my hands on the size chart and ordering it online.

I would like to be a buy local fan boy but I feel like all of the shops kinda suck.

The branch in SF also carriers several A Stars and Dainese suits. D Store is about it for suits on the rack.

You could try Helimont, everything must go as he will only be making gloves after October. Some other folks have found some suits on the shelf that worked.

You're lucky, I have to have suits custom-made. Or just send them a child's drawing of a baby hippo...so they get the dimensions right.

Stopped by there last month to take a look at their supermoto stuff (of which they had none) and the guy there said that when the economy took a crap, moto stuff wouldn't sell so they either had to switch or go under. I hadn't been there myself in 10 years or so. Disappointing.

I guessed it was along those lines. I hadn't been in there since 2006, but I ordered Alpinestars gloves online from them as recently as 2010. Kind of a bummer, since it was local and they had a lot of stuff to try on.

Back on topic, STG has a great exchange policy. I ordered a SPIDI suit from them based on the size of my old Alpinestars suit. When it arrived it was too big (weird considering A* typically runs large). Called them, they sent me a return number. Ordered the correct size and sent the wrong one back. It was pretty painless.

Bumping up this thread because I'm in search for a new trackday/race suit to replace my very used Dainese Redline. I lost some weight and the suit is a tad big on me now.

It's been almost 4 years since I went suit shopping in the Bay Area. Lots of places no longer exist or do not have suit in stock. I've been to the D-store but they only have like 3 models now. Really wanted to try on a RS Taichi suit as they have that "Asian" fit but since Roadrider is no more and Scuderia only sells street stuff I'll have to look online. Fit is a concern as Alpinestar, Revit, Dainese, Spidi and etc all fit different. Really want to try before I buy.

Also considered custom suit but have no real experience with it. If I go this route, I'll be a gamble to me. Looked at Mithos and Plus racing. Seems like a lot of stuff are made in Pakistan, not that it's a bad thing. Too bad Helimot no longer makes suits.

Where do you shop and try on suits? Any experience with custom made suits?

Airrix...
RS Taichi. Try Bellisimoto in Vegas. They’re good folks to deal with. I picked a Furygan jacket from them a few months back and they were very willing to deal with a return due to wrong size. Fortunately I got it right the first time.
