Hi,

My friend is looking to buy a mini bike, like a generic YSR50/CRF50 sized bike. Is there any recommend shops in the Bay Area? He's been searching Craigslist but running into flaky sellers.

Thanks,
Rob

Rob.

Are you looking for a race bike or a street legal YSR?

I do have 3 race bikes to choose from. And, I know someone selling a street legal version.

Well a YSR50 would be great, espeically street legal but he's working on a limited budget of under $400. It's just for him and his son to ride around the court, no racing or track days.

With that budget, and want a bike to tool around on, you prolly can't go wrong with one of those China 110cc or 125cc 4-stroke road and or dirt bikes. You'll find them on Craigslist too.

Yeah...YSR's at that price are all in pieces and/or not even registered. If you ever do find one, those are gold.....if you have time to shovel around the country.

Good luck, you'll need it.

Try YSR50.com. It seems that the "last of the last legal" YSR's are on that that forum. You will see the prices of street legal YSR's around the country. You'll get the shocker of prices out there.

Make sure all the neighbors are totally cool with it.

It would only take one person not being happy to make a phonecall and the bike would be impounded if an officer sees it being ridden on public roads or property.

They passed a new law at the begining of '07 just for such occasions.

it's monkey madness!
Even the chinese bikes don't usually clock in at under $400 though...

I have a 125cc chinese for sale right now I'd let go of for $600 though. It's a supermoto too :p

I'll have to search Craigslist for some more. In his area there are a few bikes running around already.

Really just looking for a cheap one but is there any shops in the Bay Area?
