The preferred payment may be Noncovertable Elbonian Pesos, or perhaps pillows, but I'm pretty sure that US$ may be bargained for.

This is just overnight Saturday night. 8 hours, maybe 8.5 hours. Low risk of anything happening (especially since it's in a locked area) but still offers piece of mind that someone can call 911 should someone try to take the equipment.

(If I lived in San Jose, I could probably find someone.)

I ended up hiring someone though a security company I found via a web search, hope they are good. Next year maybe the organizer will do this more than a day in advance, I got some response from BARFers.
