Suisun Valley Road heading north from Cordelia towards Lake Berryessa, or Marsh Creek / Morgan Territory heading south from Clayton. Also Redwood/Pinehurst south of Walnut Creek.

I'm trying to find these places on the map with no luck. Can you do a google maps link like I did in my second comment so I can check them out? I might do a little adventure this Sunday. :) I would REALLY appreciate it!

I found this little piece of heaven about an hour north of me. Perhaps my new stomping grounds?

Everything revolves around...What you think of the roads..

You live in congestion, And cops need to have a presence, where people are.

A twisty on a map, is also a frustration behind a slug, ya can't pass, in limited sight lines.

I was in San Diego before this. Palomar, Banner Grade, Montezuma, Highway 94, plenty of good roads down there. Excited to start exploring up here, though.

Napa, Sonoma and Marin all have great roads; I think you're going to love it here.

Also you're not that far from the Sierras for a multi day trip or Mendocino County with its marvelous pavement and very low enforcement. :thumbup

I highly recommend you buy this map which rates all the great roads in Northern California and color codes them according to "wow" factor.

I didn't buy the detailed set, which I'm sure is marvelous, just the "Companion Map" for Northern California.

I see this route you posted goes on a toll road. What is the laws surrounding motorcycles on toll roads here? Reduced toll? No toll?

All of the bridges have tolls in one direction only. Easy way to remember it is that you PAY to LEAVE THE EAST BAY and to go INTO SF. It's FREE to LEAVE SF or go INTO EAST BAY. Motorcycles pay the same rates as carpool vehicles (full rate most of the time, reduced during rush hour).

Go register at https://www.bayareafastrak.org/ and associate your license plate with your account; that way you don't need to carry the transponder with you. The bridge will take a pic of your plate as if you ran the toll, match it to your existing account, and just bill the toll there. No worrying about fumbling with cash, transponders, or fines.

Gotcha. Thanks. In the meantime, do you know how much that toll is? I ask because I will be going through there this weekend and I can't set it up before then. I want to try and have the exact amount or close to it taped to my tank or something so I don't have to get in the tail or unzip my spidi suit

Don't try crossing the Golden Gate Bridge with "exact change". They only take Fastrack there. My daughter tried it and they said "tough luck", you'll be getting a ticket in the mail. However, I had learned here that for the first "offense", you can buy a Fastrack, register your vehicle, and they cancel the fine. It costs about the same either way.

Here are a few interesting roads in your area:

Mt. Diablo: http://goo.gl/maps/90Tc5
Morgan Territory Road: http://goo.gl/maps/nDLe1
Redwood Road: http://goo.gl/maps/cCibU

In general, look at Google Maps, pick the roads that wiggle a lot, and you'll probably enjoy riding on them.

We have lots of great roads in the Sierras, once you get across the Central Valley. Take Highway 160 north from Antioch along the Sacramento River, then 20 miles of surface roads to the foothills, then many good choices.

In a couple of hours there should be a police helicopter circling the neighborhood. Don’t give it much attention it will go away after 30min, until next weekend, and the weekend after that, and the weekend after that, and….

Marsh Creek Rd. between Clayton and Brentwood. Morgan Territory branches off of it just east of Clayton. Hwy 160 north of Antioch which runs along the Sacramento River up to Sacramento.
