Where are the bikes for sale?

I was possibly looking for an fz09 or fz1 and saw there’s significantly less used bikes for sale now then any other time I’ve been in the market.

Has anyone else realized this? Is there a new marketplace? I use Craigslist and here of course.

Facebook Market Place

Yeah, in my opinion craigslist has such a sketchy reputation these days and BARF, while having honest folks as sellers, has a smaller audience which leaves Facebook Market Place.
I visited California Speed yesterday in Dublin and mentioned to the salesman that they had been mentioned in BARF recently and he said “BARF, oh yeah I haven’t been on that site in a long time”.

Lets go fishing!
I still use CL and motorcycle forums, but I've been off the social media grid since all the political hate, that started in 2016. My wife has an Offerup account, so she would post our stuff for sale on there too.

I personally don’t have a Facebook account but my wife does and she’s bought a lot of stuff from Market Place for her daycare biz and the home in the last couple of years and has always gotten great deals from good people. There certainly are a lot of other sites to sell used stuff, I just haven’t used them.

Too much lean angle...
I'm finding no value from my Facebook Marketplace listings, it's all people with time for Facebook: lowballers.

My take is that covid-19 has put a damper on every used market. If you look in the used car section, there's also a lot less supply than usual. From a seller's perspective, I believe most want to avoid in-person contact. It's also "winter" time, so the used mc market is also dryer until March/April when we're out of rain season.

I've had pretty good luck on FB marketplace, you just need to filter listings to local pickup only. FB Marketplace doesn't allow for lengthy text descriptions so follow-up communication is usually a a necessity in comparison to the cl format.

I posted the same question about a month ago, and I was told the same thing about FB. I didn't have an FB account either, cuz F FB and MZ!, so I set up and account using a burner email. Heads up though, you can view the ads, but they may not let you view the seller's contact info without having an established account, in which case, you may have to ask a friend with an FB account to look up the contact info for you. But it's doable.

Thanks, I checked FB marketplace and seems that's where the business is being done for the most part. Still not really as many Black second gen FZ1's with less than 30k miles as I hoped

CL charges for ads now so most of the traffic goes to Offer Up or Let Go.

Hadn't heard of 'em. Offer Up search doesn't seem nearly as good as CL. Harder to shop bikes there. Ditto for FB.

Let Go takes me to Offer Up.

You will also find bikes for sale in the "Motorcycle parts" area of Craigslist. CL has decided to charge 5 dollars to list a motorcycle for sale, but the parts are still gratis. Soo, people are listing bikes in parts as a dodge for the 5 bucks.

let go and offerup are the same thing, merged.... a while ago. year or more maybe. i don't use it much because i too find the search function bad, same with facebook.

sadly CL just isn't as popular as it used to be so you're kinda forced to pick something else.

Definitely a sellers market but this INFLATION is shitty as a buyer. Too much "free" expendable money floating around. More desperate buyers than there are desperate sellers.
