I've read about 4 posts in the last week about asshats buzzing by you in your lane, now some propeller head on a harley buzzed me so close our handlebars clicked,... (S-101 @ moffett)

I got SO FUCKING MAD,...we were in traffic so I set it on the rear tire (hard as fuck on a virago)
and blew by him in his lane,...so then he starts trying to chase me, in traffic!!

I just pulled over and waited for him,...so this fucking HYOOOGE guy gets off his bike like he's gunna kick my ass, (I'm like "oh shit") except he didn't see the CHP bike pull in behind him,..so I just stood there and let the guy start ranting about how I was fucking with him (wait a minute!! HE started it!!), so he's all pissed off and screaming, (I haven't said a word yet) the chp has got his helmet off and is walking up to us and they guy takes a swing at me!! like a haymaker!!, I just ducked out of the way and let him fall on the ground, then CHP starts running and yelling FREEZE!! POLICE!!!

the dude froze, and I just smiled,.....

I would think after the guy saw the cop he would have TRIED to act differently but the guy starts arguing with the cop, and gets arrested for being drunk and an asshole. (no offense to harley riders/owners, but this guy aint doing your brand any favors)

the cop then comes over and says, "you wont need to press charges unless yoiu want to, he's going to jail for being drunk, I smelled liquor on his breath", I told the cop ok since he didn't actually hit me, thats fine, and explained what happened, then the cop said "I was up on the overpass I saw the whole thing, your lucky I'm not going to cite you for that wheelie I saw you do, and DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!!"
I was like :wow,....ummm,...thank you!
have a GREAT DAY! buh bye! :later


but whats with this flying by some other motorcycle rider at like 40mph faster than the other is traveling and REAL CLOSE all about?
someones gunna get fucked up sooner or later, and I just hope it aint me, or anyone of you....

this just HAS TO STOP

if any of you reading this think this is "a cool thing to do to impress other riders",...ummm,.... please if you want to kill or maim YOURSELF, fine,...BUT LEAVE ME THE FUCK OUT OF IT,....

:eek wow, I got to say. He actually took a swing at you? Boy.... What if this dude has a weapon? You would actually pull over to wait for that before somewhat knowing you can take this guy?

You are lucky that there was a cop there and the asshat was drunk or else it will turn out to be a full blown fight on the side of the highway with two parked bikes next to it. I'm sure traffic would come to a halt quickly for this free show.

This has already happened to me twice in the same day. the passing in the same lane, not getting swung at. WTF is wrong with people. I swear there are SO many times I just dont want to ride on the street because theres a LOT of a$$ holes out there who give bikes a bad reputation.

I got buzzed by a TLR rider this morning on Mission Blvd/880 overpass. As I looked over my right shoulder and about to change lanes into the #3 lane on the overpass (on my way to Gateway) and seeing it was clear as I started my lane change and...zip, rider rips by me on the right side of the lane. Didn't hear him or see him.

Rider was going twice as fast as I was going and proceeded to S. 880. I thought about going after him but was running late for work.

This is not for Reckon specifically, but for the whining twats that get buzzed by bikes passing them in "their lane":

Check your freaking six frequently and get the hell out of the way when you see a faster bike coming! You'd expect the same from a cage, so return the favor to the bikes! The hypocrisy on this is almost as ridiculous as the sausage creature feeding rate this season!

News flash... if somebody buzzes you at +30-40 mph it's pretty damn unlikely that they sat on your tail for awhile and got frustrated, it's alot more likely that they just came up really fast and either didn't bother slowing down or thought it would be fun to buzz somebody!

On another note, reckon should watch his six for at least the next month because people like the guy he tangled with hold grudges and he probably blames him for getting arrested. It's not out of the question that the other guy might just include a chain the next time he sees him. Just a thought. ;)

I'd expect them to get out of the way, but I wouldn't force my way past if they haven't seen me or don't move.

Obviously it is courteous (and safer) to keep a watch behind and move aside when needed. But sometimes people aren't concentrating enough, or are new and not so used to checking their six.

Ultimately, the responsibilty of passing safely is on the guy behind.

yeah, I thought about that,....

I dont usually ride 101 (gee wonder why) guess I'll be taking 280 for a while again
and yeah, if there wasn't a cop, it would have been a funny sight with a fat drunk guy trying to catch a 165 lb guy who's pretty quick on his feet (when I saw how big he was I shat a brick!) in retrosprct, I was probably more of an asshat than he was,...but dayum,..he HIT MY HANDLEBARS,.....thats when I lost it.

and as far as checking my six,.......he was doing at least 40mph faster then I was,...and he was NOT behind me like 30 seconds before he clipped me (I'm SO fucking paranoid of cops, I LIVE in the rearview), so he wasn't sitting back there for more than about 20 seconds, if at all, and if you can't wait THAT long,...I mean c'mon
besides the fact that I was the only vehicle in about a 75 foot circle, so he HAD PLENTY OF ROOM, not like we are riding in a hallway, this is a 5 lane freeway AND I was in the number 3 lane!! NOT the fast lane!!

as far as the wheelie on the virago, yeah it's been a pretty good paying bar bet, cuz NOBODY thinks that'll lift a tire (and you have to help it ALOT)
so thanks for the compliment,..thats about all I can do on the thing!

I just hope we dont read a "my friend got killed when he hit another bike on the freeway at 70mph" thread,...ya know?
