What to do with removed tires?

Nobody's jumping on my free 21 year old brand new tires give away. Such a deal.

I have another set to do soon.

One time I put a tire in the recycle can and the driver dumped the can, then took the tire out of the truck and left it on the curb.

Will the band saw or sawsall cut through these things? Seems like the cords will kind of bind up while cutting. 1/4 the tires or 1/8 the tires and chuck them in to the regular trash can???

What to do to dispose of these things? What do you do?

Thanks.

Some car / bike shops will take it off your hands for a few $. I just put them curbside and republic services picks them up as part of our bulky waste pickup twice a year.

Some ideas:
You can use one as a swing in your backyard, practice mounting tires or practice fixing flats.

Any tire shop will take them. It'll cost you a few bucks per tire. Don't throw them in the trash. They end up in the landfill and will never break down.
Our trash service, Recology, will take 4 car tires per year if I call and let them know. I usually put out 6 and they still take them.

I've always gotten rid of old motorcycle tires at a local tire store. Yes, they charge two or three bucks to take them, but then they get recycled properly.

An alternative is listing it in the free stuff section of Craigslist. If the tire still has tread, somebody will want it.

+1 on Craigslist. Some folks use old tires for part of their workout setup and might want them.

Do you know why farmers like crossfit classes?
There are now a lot of people that know how to move tractor tires.

Don't bother taking them with you on a dump run. Recology wanted like $20 to drop off a tire on my last run.

Take them to your local motorcycle shop along with a box of donuts and a couple bucks. You'll get rid of the tires and make friends

I’d take them to a tire shop and pay the couple of bucks or whatever they ask instead of trying the CL route. I suspect anyone who collects junk isn’t the sort to dispose of it properly. If the goal is to properly dispose of them then one sure way is to do it yourself.

Return them to a tire shop or make a very legit Michelin Man costume.

I can't believe this thread has gone for so long without someone suggesting using them for backyard CrossFit.......

Thanks for the great replies. I will not put them on CL. They are brand-new tires 21 years old and someone will mount them up and ride on them and end up not well. My kids are are not kids anymore so no tire swing. Motorcycle tires for CrossFit? They don't seem heavy enough to do much.

On my next Costco run, I'll see if I can get them over to HK? The shop by the airport.

I take them to Costco. If you are a member they will take them for like $1 or something. Go to the tire shop front desk and tell them you need to dispose of x amount of tires. They will ask for your membership and charge you to dispose of x amount of tires. Then take your tires to the work bay and tell them you have tires for them to dispose of and show them your receipt.

They dispose of so many tires so they don't care, more benefits of being a costco member :)

These sound like perfect tires for a Dirtbag Challenge bike. They would get ridden once... then sacrificially turned into to smoke and flying bits of burning rubber.

What size(s) are they? Asking for a friend:teeth

Pep boys will do it for free.
Go in like a regular customer. Then say, u wanted to recycle some tires. They will ask how many, I think 2 or 4 is fine.
Then they will walk out to the car with u to get the dead tires.
