What to do in New York, Toronto?

First time there obviously. Leaving tomorrow with my girlfriend, gonna spend 4 nights in Manhattan and 3 nights in Toronto. We are going to Niagra Falls in Canada but besides that I don’t have much of a list. See One World Trade Center, walk around Times Square, Central Park. Our hotel is very close to Times Square.

Thanks for any ideas! :)

Put a lot of Golden State Warriors stickers everywhere in Toronto.

Other than that, I'm at a loss.

Did five days in Manhattan last year. Seeing the Big Apple was a bucket list thing for me.

Also stayed in a hotel (The Intercontinental) very close to Times Square. Seemed like a good central location to be.

Wife booked all this stuff, so I don’t have any specifics here. But we did a private car to drive us around all of Manhattan. Got one of those bicycle guys to tow us around Central Park. A boat ride with maybe 40-50 people that went under all the bridges and cruised by the Statue. All of those, they’re describing the sights and giving the history of it all as we’re going by it. On our own, we checked out Millennium Tower and the WTC memorial, Empire State, The Met, 5th Ave, Plaza Hotel, saw Hamilton, and of course Times Square. The only thing I didn’t get to do that I wanted to was make it to Katz’ Deli.

Thank you! Out of that list of stuff you did how would you rank the top 3?

Museum of Natural History is pretty much must-see if its a first-time visit. And the Guggenheim if you're into art-n-stuff.

there is a sweet documentary movie set in vermont, so basically the same place by CA distance standards, called Super Troopers. Anyway, briefly mentioned in the opening is Poutine, and how canada is a good place to get it.

So, i'd probably go to canada and look for poutine because poutine is pretty tasty.

In NYC I like Katz' deli, or any famous deli, for pastrami. Their slices and bagels and such are also good.

Toronto is a fun place with good food and will be cheap due to exchange rate.

Millennium Tower. The elevator ride is fast, but the whole thing inside of the elevator is like video screen, so you get this crazy virtual reality kinda show on the ride up and down. Then the observation deck is a pretty spectacular view. Though there’s supposedly another observation deck that’s even higher or just as high that was under construction at Hudson Yards, that’s probably finished by now. Then of course the WTC-9/11 memorial is right there too.

Central Park is pretty fascinating. So many different things to check out. Want to go on a paddle boat? Want to do a deep dive on John Lennon? Want to see a zoo? Want to see countless locations you’ve seen in movies and tv? Want to see some amazing street performers? Want to have a mind blowing moment when they tell you that Central Park is actually the second largest man made park in the US? The sum of all its parts can really be a vacation of its own for a week.

And though I didn’t list it earlier, I guess my third favorite part was the food. Yes the pizza and bagels really are better there. Something about water from the Catskills. I was told by a longtime New Yorker to go to a steakhouse named Wolfgang’s. There’s a few in Manhattan, and honestly I forgot which particular one I went to. But it was pretty awesome. Forget Peter Luger...overrated and cash only I believe.

There's a really cool NYPD museum somewhere near Wall Street. It's free to enter (suggested donation) and has lots of cool NYPD history of you're into that sort of thing.

The food is awesome in both cities.
