What bike accessory do you want to buy?

I want to get a Puig touring screen for my GS.

I normally don't mind some wind and like the clean air on naked bikes, but that's just because the stock windscreens aren't that great. The least enjoyable aspect of a long day-ride is the freeway ride home at the end of the day, after dark, especially now it's cold. Last Saturday I rented an '18 Versys 650 with a tall Puig touring screen, and it was a revelation. I didn't realize it at first and thought I over dressed for the daytime temperature, but it was the screen that added the warmth. The wind protection was great sitting normally; when I leaned forward a bit and looked thru the screen, the wind noise was mostly gone, and all I heard was the engine. I rode at 90 mph in long stretches on Hwy 25 and 198, and hit 100 mph without realizing it. I rode the Versys 650 faster than I typically do on my bigger bikes, all because of the superior windscreen.

Is Black Friday sales a thing for moto accessories and worth the wait?

I have a BMW R1200RT and unfortunately there aren’t a lot of options available. That’s the one thing I don’t like about that bike. The windscreen can be upgraded but I’m ok with the OEM

Seriously, I'm a heavy bastard and I'm finding that I'm too heavy for.a lot of the riding I want to do.

I just don't care for surgical shortcuts and the complications they create, and I'm too lazy to do it alone.

Might just be my Christmas present to myself this year.

...and no, there's no really meaningful Black Friday sales for moto gear, it's the same discounts they usually offer with a "Christmas" label applied.

I have a fz07 I bought to replace my current commuter two years ago and I don't even ride it, I HATE the suspension: There's a few things I want to add before I make it actually rideable.

~Add full Traxxion AK-20 cartridge to the front
~Penskey two way adjustable rear shock w/reservoir
~GPR steering stabilizer
~Hand guards
~Tall windscreen

Been tossing the idea of adding all this stuff over my winter break but that's a bit hit to my wallet :laughing

Auto-blipper (Translogic or FTEcu).
Ohlins shock and fork cartridges.
Aftermarket rearsets.
Graves EVR 3/4 system with the ecu remapped.

Too bad you have a 2015, I have an OEM comfort windshield for the previous gen RT that came with my bike when I bought it privately. I opted for the original one as my sight line was obstructed by the larger windscreen. The comfort one is just laying in my living room.

If you want total protection, I highly recommend the larger one BMW offers.

Good to know. I’ve been thinking about a windshield upgrade for a while now

Surprised to see some BMW RT owners not happy with the big stock windscreen with its electric height adjustment. I rented a K1600GTL and thought its big electrically adjustable windscreen was great in the rain and on the freeway, and assumed RT would be just as good...

Some of the "wants" seem more like "wishes". Accessories to me mean fairly cost effective add-ons, not fancy upgrades...

Have you considered starting over and getting a different bike?

Heated grips. Once you've tried them, you'll never go back. Life-changing.

Also I tried out a friend's bike which had a Kaoko Throttle Lock, and on some long highway rides, it was awesome. https://kaoko.com/how-it-works/

A couple of years ago, I got a big Puig tinted screen for my 2015 Versys, but it was honestly too dark - in anything other than bright sunlight, I couldn't see the road immediately in front of the bike.

Finally, you can never have too many Aerostich silk scarves - they're cheap, keep you warm and make you look "Euro-cool"...

Senpai, look at the Manic Salamander throttle lock. I like it better than the Kaoko.

As for what I'd like to buy, a nice set of hard saddlebags would be awesome. Unfortunately, it's a pipe dream since nobody makes them.

Owning two Harleys means I’m already over accessorized.
My Springer model has almost no stock parts except the frame, tank and front suspension. I also own three seats, two windscreens, and a couple of rack systems.
In the HD world there is no end.........:party

I would like to try heated grips on my VFR. Are they as game changing as people say they are? Also want to try a heated vest.

For commutes I think they are a must have.

Heated vest is super nice as well.
