A dead battery and a punctured rear tire. On two different bikes :wtf
So I went down the office garage to get the bike out for a quick ride to fill the lunch hour. Didn't start. Okay no big deal, I just walked home, grabbed the charger and hopped on bike #2, and rode back to the office.
Done wasting the afternoon actually working, I went back down to the garage and started charging the battery on bike #1. The I took bike #2 out for the overdue ride.
Fast forward 45 minutes later, said overdue ride was over, I was on the way home thinking about whether I should buy a new battery... Brap brap brap... What the fuck was that? I asked myself. So I pulled over and sure enough, a huge shinny bolt sticking half way out of the rear tire. Pulled the sucker out, a goddamn 3.5" long 3/8" diameter bolt, with a nut intact. How the hell did it find its way into my tire?
It was only 1/2 mile from home but sort of uphill so I decided I was too cool to push it. So I stood on the pegs, leaned forward as much as I could, rode it slowly and away from any bumps . Turning with a flat rear was a bitch, though.
On the bright side, I certainly am going to have new rubbers, and possibly, a new battery arty :ride
