Well I pulled the trigger and bought my dream bike.

I have been looking/lusting/day-dreaming about a R12RS since I bought my 2010 R12R in 2016, my first boxer. Well, with my advancement in November and finding out we will be staying in Alameda until 2021, I decided to start looking for my dream bike. Surprising there were only a few around. The most perfect one I have seen (right color and options) was in Novato last month but it was in the middle of the government shutdown and I didn't feel right purchasing a bike while my income was on hold. So, I resolved to just keep an eye out on a good bike, low miles, with luggage, and a reasonable price.

Fast forward to yesterday. I decided to pick up the phone and call a dealer that had one, just to see what it had. Well, that turned into the dealer sending me 21 pictures and me putting a deposit to hold it. It has everything I wanted but a top case and engine guards. The dealer is going to install those next week prior to transport for me. Sooo, the paperwork is started and I am here recovering from emergency surgery, thinking of all the trips I will take with it, including Kernville once it gets delivered out here. This also means I will need to put my R12R up for sale...lots to do. Someone will come away with a great bike there.

I just wanted to share my excitement with my fellow barfers. I think I have found the one for the long haul.

Here is a picture of my new addition!

I bought my 2016 new in late 2015 (same color). Great bike. Wunderlich sells a really good rear tire huger that will keep your shock cleaner. I also added bar risers (also from Wunderlich) which made the riding position even more comfortable. The Beemer Shop (in Scotts Valley) has a really good shock (if you are looking to upgrade).

Congrats.

Congrats!!

It took me 2 years to decide between a R12R and an R12RS.....

I finally decided on the R12R, after like 5 rentals, 6 test rides. Of course, now I am already waiting for the R1250RS to be sorted out. (No New engine tech for me, thank you)
So in 2020, I'll be getting an RS, to go with the R...and it's other garage-mates.
It's true, you can never have enough boxers!

BTW, the DTC, ESA, ABS-Pro make these bikes a dream to ride, as you may have already noticed.

Thanks. My current R has none of the new upgrades/features so I think I'm going to have an adjustment period but what I do know is that I love the engine, the shaft drive, and the balance of these boxers so I am quite confident I will be in love.
