weight on foot pegs

This. And very few of us are capable of getting a MotoGP slick up to full operating temperature. Very few. I am certainly not.

I know I wont be for some time...if ever

Wait, Moto GP uses different tires than what is readily available to us? ive honestly never paid a lot of attention to them.

I have been using Michelin SC2 or SC1, I have seen SC3 and I believe SC0. So in terms of Michelin, which is what I barely understand as it is, what would a Moto GP rider tire be?

Wait, your heel is on the peg on the outside peg? Why heel? Should be on the balls of your feet on both feet.

maybe hes tall or has long legs and it doesnt matter for him.

I have long legs and have no issues locking my heel onto the peg, as long as it stays the outside foot.

GP tires are not comparable to your Michelins. GP tires have a stiffer carcass and rubber that has a higher operating range for temperature. essentially, that means u need to brake and accelerate at GP levels to get the tires anywhere close to their optimal temperature.

this doesn't invalid all the stuff they do with their body. if anything, the fact that the size and ergonomics of a GP bike are different than a production bike has a much larger effect. but it does suggest we take their techniques with a grain of salt. watch and learn from them all u want, just don't be surprised if their techniques don't make u faster or more comfortable.

Mick Doohan used to wear out a pair of boots every RACE. Soles completely gone. Used legs and feet to start and control slides and traction.

Jay, If I've learned one thing that's changed what I think of MotoGP riders it's that those bikes are nothing like ours...once I learned that, I started watching what WSBK and the likes are/ were doing. It's like that leg dangling shit in club races...WTF?

I don't know how else to move on the bike except for on the balls of my feet. That's me personally, but the balls/ toe sections gives the ability to stay forward on the bike as well under cornering/ acceleration.

I also prefer to watch WSBK especially practice and qualifying as i get to see more of their technique being put into practice without getting caught up in the racecraft.

A fellow i raced against last season in novice clubman suffered from sudden onset leg dangle at the sonoma round and i couldn't help but ask why? :laughing :rofl :twofinger

I dont really watch Moto GP. some of the highlights on youtube but thats about it. I like to watch the beIN SPORTS USA youtube channel. I dont know what the races are called but I know a few of the names

Elias
Bea
Hayden
Scholtz
Ritz

I picked up Jason Ritz 2013 ZX10R that was for sale on here not knowing anything about him. Just out of luck i clicked on one of these races and seen him in the lineup. So i watched the race and now im hooked on the last few seasons...

But Honestly I dont really pay attention to their riding all that much. I posted a link to video that populated in my subscriptions only because it was really easy to see the guys foot placement...

Rea, not Bea, and Ritz is actually a long Turkish name. Rea is fast, no?

Rea looks locked in, just not with his knee or that part of his inner thigh. his hips aren't moving with that bouncing. his main point of contact with the tank seems to be his inner thigh further toward his groin.

IMO, pro racers conserve energy very well. if theres no reason to lock their leg to the tank, they arent going to do it. they sit on the seat when possible. they only weight their pegs when it does something. etc etc. thats partly how Josh Herrin got through 4 SBK races in a weekend at Laguna, while club racers feel gassed after 3-4 sprint races.

J-Laur, yeah. Jason/ Jenn Lauritzen..some of the best people in the club, IMO. 619/916. Jason's a great guy.

:twofinger I think it happened when I was braking hard and my foot slipped off the peg and it felt good :laughing I don’t recommend it for every corner though, just the slow ones (or the ones I should go slow) :twofinger:twofinger:twofinger

Also got sudden onset yoga plough pose :teeth:rofl:twofinger

At least you got a great pic! :wow

Some call me picturesque :laughing

Go slow in the slow corners, that’s all I gotta say about that :party

In my 8 track days ive had two low sides...T-hill turn 5a and turn 11...

Its hard for me to slow down. First one was on Q3's with no warmers. 1st lap, 1st session! Was a good learning lesson. Now I at least wait till noon session to start riding faster. Plus I bring two bikes, two helmets, two sets of leathers, two sets of warmers and race tires. Going home early is a Pita! SO is wrecking!

2nd wreck was right in front of gotbluemilk so he lit me up....even the part where my dumb ass tried to stand up while still going way to fast and did a flip....Another lesson learned! :wtf
