Warning: MotoGP Craigslist ticket scam

I have had a campsite for MotoGP and before that WSBK, over the years I have used it, friends have used it and a couple times I have sold it on Ebay. This year a buddy of mine was going to use the site but he was laidoff a couple weeks ago. So I put it up on Ebay. Well one of the bidders on Ebay informed me that someone on the Monterey Cragslist was selling the same campsite. I checked it out and they had copied my text and pictures straight from Ebay. I flagged the craigslist item and it was removed. I also contacted the person to see what the deal was. They replied that it was for sale and please send them my Name, Address, ect and my Ebay ID because we would close the deal through Ebay. WTF, a total scam. I did a search a little while ago and the scum bag has listed my site for sale again on Craigslist.

The person has give two names Antonia Gilmore and Lydeah Negro, email address lydeahnegro1@gmail.com.

As of now the latest listing is still on Craigslist. http://monterey.craigslist.org/tid/2487281067.html

Isn't this shit illegal? report him to the police....

It has been reported to Craigslist as a scam with all the info. I'm waiting to hear from them.

I wanted people on BARF to know and be wary if buying tickets on Craigslist.

Not anymore...:):teeth:thumbup

Thanks for flagging it. It is gone now. I'm sure it is only a matter of time before it is back again. I'm going to keep watching and flagging it when I find it.

Hopefully the scumbag is smart enough to remove my info but I'm not holding out much hope. Scumbag scammers aren't the smartest tools in the shed.

The scammer could be anywhere but I would call the cops - who knows they might get lucky. A few weeks ago there was an article in the paper about a bay area woman who was arrested for selling fake passes to Disneyland. People who bought them found out they were fake when they tried to get into the park.

Contra Costa Times said:
A woman suspected of selling counterfeit Disneyland passes to Contra Costa residents was arrested ....

Walnut Creek police took Lisa Marie Cassinelli into custody after searching her Pleasant Hill home...

several victims from San Ramon and Pleasanton told police they had fallen for a scam after responding to Cassinelli's ad on Craigslist ...

Cassinelli was booked into Martinez County jail. Her bail is set at $60,000. source

Watermark your images with a gmail address you create specifically for this purpose next time, then no one can steal them easily

Squid.
It's not a real person, this is all automated. They scrape ebay ads, repost them on craigslist, and then it's all replied to through automatically generated scripts. Just flag them as they come up, you're talking to a computer when you reply to them.

I've forwarded this info on to 2 other (National) biker sites. Spread the word folks; save our bro's some money & problems.

When I encountered a CL scammer, I reported their email addresses

to abuse@<domainname>.com. I think it was yahoo & gmail. I heard from one of the two that they had taken action. Presumably they cancelled the email account. Obviously the scammer can get 100 more, but it interferes with scammer business.

SWEET! I'm gunna buy them! [sarcasm]

I am sending him an e-mail. Will report back.

Don't bother I did that when he was posting my shit. All you get is what sounds like a robot saying close deal through ebay over and over again. Just flag it to make it go away.
