we have a fairly small backyard (only about 22' x 18') behind our townhouse, and most of it is covered by a wood deck that has mostly rotted through. we want to have the deck removed and have grass put down, including a small automatic sprinkler system and a brick/stone border around the perimeter of the fence. we'll have to do it in 2 stages - our homeowner's association allows us to remove the deck, but we need approval before we put anything back in its place (we need to submit a request form with a drawing of the desired outcome).
a couple of tricky things to this - the only way to get to the backyard is through the house, so a bit of extra care will be needed to maneuver and get materials back and forth. and, i'm sure the ground under the deck is nasty and not at all fit for immediate sod placement, so the soil would need to be prepared accordingly.
anyone have any good experiences with a local contractor/landscaper (we live in union city) who could do this sort of work? opinions based on personal experience are preferred! any suggestions on who could do this would be greatly appreciated!
thanks,
marianne
