want to diagnose weird noise?

Hey,

Anyone want to diagnose some random noise off the internet? My gsxr doesn't really sound right to me. I can't really describe it. Maybe a bit clunky. I have no reason to think that there is anything wrong, though. Starts up and rides well, valves are in spec. I've attached a zipped wave file for anyone that wants to take a listen.

sounds like your helsinki smash rod's about to go out. i'd stop riding it. maybe sell it to cycle61 before it goes south, and leaves you stranded at home, with no way to get to *$.

one way to pinpoint it is by using a stetoscope and finding the problem or a screw driver .. sounds ok to me .. btw try to listen around the clutch area .. i bet that rattle noise will be around it

well what i do know is that Gixxers tend to have a ticking sound! i thought something was wrong till i found about the gixxr tick! your bike is fine, i had a friend take his bike to 5 different shops with that sound and every one told him it was OK!

Has it been sitting for a while?
Kinda sounds like its idle is off or climbs up and down. Try changing the fuel filter or run some seafoam.

(I would only worry or take this advice if it has really high miles or hasnt been started ina while)

sounds like the CCT is noisy but GSXRs are noisy too
