Wall mount / hang leathers

I did a search and didn't find anything from previous posts, but was wanting to get ideas on how to hang my old leathers from the wall, as a display.

Brian Bartlow has a nice setup at his FLAP dirt school. In the "class room" he has all his old leathers hanging next to an insane amount of trophies. :cool

Basically leathers on a heavy duty hanger up against a wall. Nothing over the top, just looks cool. Helmets lining a shelf below.

I mount a 1" pipe floor flange to the wall with a twelve inch piece of pipe screwed into it with an end cap on it. I saw this at Scuderia and put one in my Garage. Might need to reinforce the wall with a piece of wood across studs. I've been able to hang a Stich, leather A* jacket, and full Redit textile jacket and pants on one mount with no problem.

Thanks! That's actually a great idea. I wonder if heavy duty wall anchors will do the trick if I cant find a stud in the location I have in mind..

give it a shot. if a chunk of the sheetrock comes tumbling down, you can install a board between the studs at the proper height when you repair it. :thumbup

Tons and tons of ways from DIY metal pipe fittings to welding, to the CONDOR product that hangs the suit and helmet. Iv even seen j hooks with a round wooden stair case decorative knob.

Not what I would do. Screw a piece of 2x6 horizontally between two studs. Then screw the flange to the 2x6.

Just be sure to drill a hole the size of the anchor before putting it in. If you just pound it through the wall you'll weaken the back side of the sheetrock. DAMHIK.
