To be honest It seems like a good idea if you're prone to getting camera tickets, but in the long run you might get a bigger ticket from a leo.

I thought this was gonna be a picture of a sawzall. :laughing

I personally know dozens of people who have eliminated their fenders in a variety of ways and trust me, that's the last thing for which they're gonna get tickets. :teeth

I haven't had a "legal" tail in years and haven't had a problem. I ride the freeways and SF a lot. I also generally refrain from acting like a complete ass clown in view of the general public and po-po. I've passed plenty of stock bikes sitting on the side of the road gettin' lit up like a christmas tree by Mr. 5-oh, too.

Well shit, squids are in luck as the $5X.00 electronically flipping license plate kit is cheaper than a lot of the $100+ non-flipping fender eliminator kits I've seen. :twofinger

These have been around forever... before these kits you used to rig it up to a solenoid, or use cabinet hinges

I use loose zip ties. Errr... I mean I *heard* that some people do that. :laughing (it actually was a legit fix for when my fancy-schmancy bolts fell off and I've just never changed it.)

I remember there used to be a LCD version one around? The screen would turn grey at the flip of a switch or push of the button. :dunno Either way the law is going to harass you for sporting either one of these... :(

in the long run the kind of kook that buys something like this drops his bike a couple times, then turns into one of those blowhards you always run into who has to tell you all about how "I used to ride bikes but man I was just too crazy"

yeah, that is true without a doubt. (disclaimer: i don't wish any barfer to get points on their license, insurance sky rocket or have their bike impounded if they buy this product. if they want to though...well, i guess they can race milleracer69 on the dragon with no filmer...:twofinger)

Isn't that technically a fender eliminator, eliminator?

I like how in the FAQ area it says "Will it fit my bike?" and the answer is "If it's a sportbike, yes" :laughing So I suppose they have another model specifically for KLR650s and Goldwings.
