UK PS3 Games in USA

So, I'm not a tech savvy guy, I think this is the right spot to ask but anyway hopefully someone can help or point me in the right direction. I bought a copy of MotoGP 2013 for my PS3. The issue is it is a European game. I hear that the PS3 games are region free is this true? also If I want to buy downloadable content for the game how do I get it? are there places I can buy a British visa loaded with euros or the British pounds?

yes ps3 games are region free. at one point, i had a japanese ps3, playing a UK game in america.

Cool, glad I won't have to track down a European PS3 to play this game.

Just got my copy of this game and it is soooo BadAss!!! Definitely get it if you can order a copy. now I just need to find a way to get the Downloadable content and ride as Alonso in the rookies cup.
