Gary J: Ride in Peace
My sweet wife got me a new BP that includes chest protection, so these need to go. Both are CE-certified.
BP #1 is the "Sweep" model from Nextart, size Medium. Yeah, I don't know the brand either, but it's well-constructed. The shoulder strap elastic is good and the waist-belt should fit someone with a waist of less than 35". This is solid, semi-squishy foam and doesn't breathe a ton, so I used this for cool-weather riding and it helped me keep warm - bonus!
BP #2 is from Joe Rocket, but it was made by T-Pro, size Large. It has the signature honeycomb construction and a material that is pliable until it gets hit with some force, at which point it stiffens up and spreads the load. It's also really breathable, so it's good for summer riding. The elastic for the shoulder straps started to loosen up, so I had the extra taken up with some stitching, but you could undo that in about two minutes if you need the extra room. The waist belt would probably fit a waist up to 38", maybe a bit more. It's also longer than the Nextart, so the user should be 6' or have a long torso (or both).
(Sorry for these sideways images. Can't seem to get it fixed.)
$30 each, or $55 for the pair. Pick up in Benicia or Fairfield.
