Twin-port Royal Enfield

I absolutely love this photo.
The bike is a mid-30's model.
The rider is without doubt, an American rider.
I'm not sure when Royal Enfields were first imported to the US, but I don't think it was until after WWII, when the Indian Sales Corp. had begun importing Enfield, Vincent, and other British bikes to supplement their sagging sales of American made Indians.

Oh, forgot to mention an interesting feature of the bike.
Who can spot this American motorcyclist's nifty solution to the problem posed by Lucas electrics?

Great pic ... funny how I can look at at a photo and
not see something like the bicycle light 'till
it's pointed out ... :laughing
